this isn't a 'limited edition' but not often seen and is expensive when it does surface.. so how many do Corgi 'do' on an unlimited run?

I saw a Dan Air Comet go real cheap on eBay last week, I think it was only available to US bidders.
Most 1st Issues were 5000, but I think some of the not so popular non-limited runs could be much less. I can't see Corgi doing a re-run of the Legends Harrier.

Strange this one. I bought my Dan Dare Comet soon after release. Had a job getting one then. The dealer I bought off only ever had two. Don't ever remember seeing them hit dump bins. Maybe someone has a 'lockup' full of these and all those aussie mossies :D

The Dan Air Comets spent as much time at a tenner as the other usual suspects (i.e. all apsrt form the TC ones..)... unfortunately I just didnt buy any of them.. They seem to be a little short on the ground now...

hindsight tis a wonderful thing :)

Sfunny though as I remember the TC cheapo not D/Dares. At the time I went to Dunstable fair and other potters. Didn't start Nec/etc till later in 2000.

Thats it there are.. just that Corgi dont seem to be able to market very well to them...

Corgi must have made money from the initial 1/144th releases otherwise they wouldn't have been able to fund 1/72nd. Then found they could sell more 1/72nd. Some more money invested in 1/72nd. then 1/32nd.
Then beancounters say 'Oh look at all the money we can make on this'........... 'But these others don't make as much profit.' .....'Our advice is drop these' End of story. End of 1/144th. Happy new year ...NOT.

1/144 was a new market.... 1/72 was partially there..... you are going to sell more -72's.. doesnt mean you gonna make more profit..!!

Only Corgi could have 1/32 scale Spits selling for less than 1/72 ones..!!

Bring on me VC10... III.... 121.....!!

I know , lets work from a different angle, as we must be speaking a foreign language or somfink.

Why don't we suggest Corgi working on a Museum series. Take Duxford, Imperial (bit unpolitically correct these days) War Museum.

We've got B52, Corsair?, NGNG?, F4, Tornado, Monarch Brit, Dan dare Comet et al.

mmm. now what else is there? SR71, Trident, VC10, Herald, Concorde.

So although not matching in scale, we could build our own little Duxford.
Who's for Cosford next!

E&OE as usual my memory is a bit iffy

I am working through some of the preserved aircraft in UK, but with the toolings we've already got. Next year, you'll see several UK warbirds portrayed on Corgi models, both WW2 and later

 Fascinating to study the lag between manufacturers market research (or lack of!!), what the consumer thinks they would like, and those models that will actually sell!!!...........

At the end of the day its not Rocket Science but fairly plain to see for those that need to but are seemingly blind and virtually deaf!!!........ :o

Dealers.. AA's or Lofty Agent Price Guides...???

Be a sad day when dealers more eaglerly await a figment of the imagination than the latest round of AA offerings.. naw surely that would never happen..!!
