Still going through the old negs. A few pics from Finningly, not of great quality but that's what you get for using the cheapest film and processing. Being September it wasn't usually the best weather for photography either. What a god send digital is.:)
Start with one that only a mother could love.

One of the perks of Finningly was being able to camp on the airfield the night before the show and get a preview of the static park. Nice leisurely breakfast in the morning followed by a stroll down to the show. Happy days.:)

Always liked the Andover for some reason.

Indeed, that's what the Queen's Flight had before the BAe 146 as I recall. I remember the 115 Sqn Andover E.3's from Benson very well, we'd always see those around on calibration work. I think there's still one flying as part of the UK Open Skies thingy.

There was until recently but seem to recall reading they broke it after a hard landing, and that's that :(

Thanks for posting DCR..was going to that show as a nipper in the 60's, would love to remember what I'd have seen in those days. Even the later Finningly shows knocked the Waddo show into a cocked hat.....those were the days!! The 1991 show(from Scramble):

Indeed, that's what the Queen's Flight had before the BAe 146 as I recall.
My old man bought a microlight from a bloke who worked on Queen's flight, he also damaged it when he landed it in a rape field after running out of fuel. He took it to work and 'refurbished' it. Looked very nice when it came back! The only Queen's flight microlight?

When in the ATC we had an experience flight in a E.3 from Benson, 17 landings and take offs at Boscombe down, never been so sick in my life!!

Eight Wessex on that list! That's what I call an Airshow.:)
Just one query - the 1991 list quotes Nimrod XV263 as being 'small pieces only'. But DCR's photo shows it as being rather whole - however, DCR says he took the photo the day before, so that explains the discrepancy!

Yes, I noticed that.:D
Here's a couple of close ups. Presumably it was scrapped when Finningly closed.
