Picked up one of Gemini jets AN-124s today. This is a great little model of a big plane. A big improvement on their C17 IMHO.

Here are several photo's I've just taken. Thanks to plumstix for picking up the links didn't initially work :o

Just a bit bigger than a 1:72 P47.

The wingspans around 18cm and the fuselage's about 17cm in length.

Lovely stuff...can't wait to see how many schemes they will do this in though? This may possibly be the only one!

Albert, there's two out already.

TSR-2, are the AN-124's part of the Gemini Macs series?

Valid point Albert. By my reckoning there are two other scheme's Gemini can do. Another Volga Group one plus an Aeroflot one. That makes three schemes in total.

Exactly the same number of schemes as we have for a Hawker Typhoon.

No. Maybe I should have posted this under Civil thead as it's in a Civilian scheme.

That's OK then, if it was in the Macs series I would have to buy one.

Ascot, here you go. These are the only two I've got to hand at the moment. Still trying to work out the best way to photograph them. The perspective is a bit misleading on the first one. If you want I'll post some better ones tomorrow?

What's the Dragon C-5 like? Are the wings plastic?

No. The only plastic parts to be found are the tail, engines and undercarrage. A big improvement over their other aircraft. The tempo printing is a good as ever. Hopefully they'll bring out the classic MAC white and grey scheme, plus a Euro 1 scheme sometime next year.

The AN-124 is all metal just like the C17. Gemini have done a much better job on the wing join (it's still there but not as pronounced) and under carrage compared to the C17, IMHO.

I may be tempted by the C-5 yet then. All that plastic puts me off Dragon's others.

Saw the Dragon C-5 for btwn #22 and #25 at Slough yesterday was almost tempted but went for a couple of other 1/400s and the Corgi B-57.

On the GJ 1/400 theme I believe that the 1st off under plan a was the Libyan one but as Polet and Volga came first there has obviously been a change, I'd think they could do at least a handful, haven't yet taken the plunge but maybe next year...

Also informed by a well known one man band Gemini dealer that their prices should be revised DOWNWARDS next year, he quoted around 17 for a 747 as the Pound to Dollar rate makes them a fair bit overpriced, hope the guy is right, he normally is with the 1/400 and 1/250 as this is what he specialises in.

All the best for the new year to all out on the list.

My earlier posting mentioned the following

"Also informed by a well known one man band Gemini dealer that their prices should be revised DOWNWARDS next year "

From an e-mail I just got from a shop based at Hillingdond and LHR VC it would appear that the Gemini 1/400 price drops are effective now   , does that mean that I can but even more of these than I used to ... :D :D
