Its 60 years ago today that the Soviets lifted the land blockade of West Berlin and thus ended the Berlin Airlift - a supreme effort by the western powers in the face of aggression and worthy of remembrance

My dad was an NCO Air Traffic Control assistant on the lift, if you ever meet him don't:


1. Ask if he was a national serviceman- definitely a regular and that never gets raised as a one up on the father in law:p

2. Comment on the latest 'near miss' as two airliners skirt one another at half a mile. ('half a mile- that's nothing we used to...' etc etc:wacko: )
