If there's any chance Corgi can salvage this scale in the military range, I think that a series of WWII bombers and other large multi engine aircraft would be their best bet.
They got off to a decent start with the Lancaster, C-47, B-17 and Sunderland, so why stop there. Let's put some ideas down here and maybe, if all is not already lost, Uncle Albert can inspire the powers that be that there is still life in this scale.
I'll start with the following;
B-24 (hey, they can't seem to do enough in 1/72, so why not)
Halifax
Stirling
FW200 Condor
Ju290
He177 Greif
Me323
Ju52
He111
Wellington
Do217
PBY Catalina
Over to you, boys.... :)

All in the 2005 part 2 catalogue...
Whilst I totally agree with you a 1/144 737 or 727 would easily sell in their thousands... so guess we are both knackered...

At least they could cut'n'shut all the surplus B.707's to make 727's and 737's.
Just need new wings and tails. ;) I'll subcontract if they want!

I have these 4 models and I agree with you 100% about keeping this Military scale going. They don't have to punch out 6 or 7 a year but 2 or 3 would be nice. Between collecting these and 1/72 WW II planes that would keep me busy. I think that any plane that would have a wingspan of 10" or more if they were to make it in 1/72 scale, would be a good candidate for 1/144.
I know I won't be too pleased with Corgi if they start a scale and after collectors have spent hard earned money to buy them, they quit making them. If I had thought they were going to end the scale the money I spent buying these 4 planes would have gone to get more 1/72 planes.
And yes, please stay on topic when a thread starts. It's very frustrating, especially to the person that starts it, if he is looking for a serious reply to the topic and the topic gets hijacked. There are enough places on this forum for every topic without this happening all the time.

Although not really 'my' scale, I'd definitely think there's scope for Hallibag and Stirling to go with the Lanc - and come to think of it, why not a Lanc MkII ?
That would make for a fine line-up of little Heavies..... ;)

With the greatest respect, WHO MENTIONED CIVIL?, this is a mil thread, and....when are 707's, 727's 737's solely civil. There are mil versions as you won't need reminding ...CT43, RNZAF 727, etc.

Easy GB, I said that with a smile ( ), not a frown ( ) !
Anyway, was pointing that comment at Agent as I've given him a little friendly grief over civvies before. :D
And, small point, but if he'd mean't military he'd have said C-135, CT-43, etc...

Yeah sorry no4mkit, just a crap day at work! your post bore the brunt of my anger! Personally I'd love more 1/144th planes of any kind as Corgi seem to have departed this scale. How about we redress the balance in UK/US relations and start with a request for a Valkyrie, B58, B36, Tu95 (to go with b52) Just some nice heavy metal. No chance but wishfull dreaming

Back to the thread of WW11 Heavies though. What about that twin Heinkle 111 used for glider tug and things. Can't remember its designation off the top of my head, Zwigllen or something. to lazy to look it up :D .
Would also be good in 1/72 as well.

The Germans liked 'welding' aeroplanes together! Didn't they do a 109 and a stuka???
Id love to see some more 1:144 but Civils would be preferred, just feel its a better scale for Civil aircraft!!!
Condor is a good shout however!! :)

agree, corgi have moved on apace, im guilty in the fact that i dont really look at that scale anymore, easier to display, but would rather have 1/72 and get them out occasionaly for a play
