For the benefit of members here, I thought I should mention that a Model Hangar forumite is listing one of the ultra-rare Corgi 'Flying Mule' 262s ...

If this was a completly unique model the price would be justified but mindful that there is the identical - apart from the packaging of course - Legend version I would rate this as distinctly overpriced. A buy it now price of $199 just seems overly ambitious - still you never know and I do kind of hanker after one myself!

At one time, these easily sold for $200 (or more)..;)
And being 1 of only 262 made makes this a very unique piece

I agree,
If you don't yet have one of these in your collection, it is a good opportunity at a fair price! Obviously it will not be for everyone, but for the committed die-cast collector, it is bordering on a 'must have'!

I love my diecast but not at the sort of prices folks pay this one. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Oh how I remember the internet frenzy the night the Flying Mule made those models available and there was a problem with their website. I can still remember howls of pain as I completed the order process only for it all to go 'belly up' - several times. In the end I remote controlled a PC at work with a much better internet connection and managed to get through!!
I got one in the end and along with their lovely Fw-190 and P-40 some of my nicest die casts...!!

Yeah....I remember....it was pure luck I was on the forum just as somebody broke the news.......I think it was ordered 30 seconds later:D
I can understand those that won't pay big money for it. It is too expensive to display. Even though I got it at release, it is one I will never display.....I'm quite happy with my Legend version for that.:D ;)

Yep me too I have their specials. Agreed they are super :cool BTW I bought two of their Fw190's and sold one for about £140 I think, so I did well that day. :)

I reckon $199 (117squid) is a right good deal for what is probably one of Corgi's rarest diecasts and it is actually a cracking model with an excellent special "Flying Mule" type box:cool:
Look at what collectors who fell for the bullsh1t about wharehouse fires have paid for the highly hyped and highly priced Ozzie Mossie (450squid IIRC)
Also remember waiting for the Flying Mule website to start taking orders for this one and getting kicked just as i was ordering because of the number of people online at the time:D
Luckily i sent an e-mail and got one back later to say a model had been reserved for me so i didn't miss out in the end.
Must admit that night was fun and reckon we could do with a few more special announcements out of the blue of highly limited releases just to keep the interest at a peak.
I also think Flying Mule deserves a bit of credit on this one as well as he not only brought us a very fine collectable model but he also sold it at virtually nothing more than retail knowing he could have probably made a killing on it.

I remember looging-on the next morning having missed all the 'excitement' and thinking, 'oh well - perhaps I'd better have one...' = and then getting one with no problems at all

It was one of the best nights in diecast history when FM put their 262 up for sale. The sheer frenzy and hysteria got the adrenalin pumping and the anticipation as to whether you'd secured one when the site went belly up was just agonising! :D Those were the days
