I have recently aquired one of the Australian Chinooks. I noticed that the front wheels are in a fixed position and do not rotate like in the other models. Has anyone else got one and noticed this? Or do I have a "Friday afternoon "one???

Can't answer you're query I'm afraid, but if it turns out to be a Friday afternoon job you could always sell it on evilbay as an ultra limited edition... ;)

Mmm yes I know the problem, I still haven't come across one of the gear bay doors for my F-4J (UK) yet, and that went missing middle of last year!!
I was holding off for the RAF Chinny HC2, but having seen the Aussie version I'm seriously tempted by that instead.

Yeah....thats the only downside with some of the corgi models. Their bits and pieces are easy to lose and break!!

The Phantom canopy is pretty bad for that, two pretty flimsy plastic lugs are all that hold it on! I can see that being a problem on my Falklands Chinook too, I daren't take it out of the box! :o

Yes The Falklands Chinook is a VERY fragile piece indeed!! Be very careful. I had bits snap of mine really easily!!!

The rotors are a real b***h to get in as well.

Sounds like I'll have to be a bit careful with my Chinny then! I have the RNAS Culdrose Sea King HU5 (one of my favorite AA's), the rotors were a bit fiddly but with a bit of care they fixed in ok. Does the Chinook use the same rotor fixing system as the Sea King?

The Chinooks front rotor has a different shape fixing point to the rear one and they are a very tight fit.So i don't know if i'll be able to get them out again without breaking anything.
