I've got the RAF Brize Norton one, the only thing I'm not too impressed with is the join of the wings and fuselage, not exactly flush.

I think you may be right there - hence why they are pushing the Gemini Jets...

Personally I think there is something up in the kennel...... and we really need to be concentrating our views on the other providers of metal..... as usually when it is canine related, the only option ever given is lethal injection...

The undercart on my C17 is not as good as it could be either.

Yeah I thought that too. It's interesting to note that the rear of the wing is pretty flush, it's just the forward section leaving nearly a 1mm gap. I suppose it's a departure from the low-wing civvie airliners they have been producing thus far. I have many of the airliners and they are very well produced, but I can certainly see how they ran into problems with mounting a high-wing section without a gap. I found the model to be a bit tail heavy too. :(
I would like to see them produce a C-141 Starlifter, now that would be very nice!

No it's an amazing aircraft. I was over at Mildenhall a couple of years back when the viewing area was still open, and we got lucky when a C5 taxied past the enclosure on the way to the runway. The take off is amazing, as it's so large that it just doesn't seem to have enough airspeed to get into the air, you hold your breath momentarily then it finally lifts off.
I saw a C-141 at Lakenheath last week, which was nice!

There's a pic of the new USAF C-17 on the GJ site now
http://www.geminijets.com/pics/GMUSA005.jpg
it's almost identical to the other one. I know there's not going to be a great variation in colour schemes so my point is, why bother?

The C-17's, Hercs and Orions are for saddies like me with a 1/400 scale airport to play with. A row of military on the south side complements all the bright civvies parked at the terminal. Never grow up I say!

I would think that if you're an American you'd likely want the USAF version, whilst those of a British persuasion would opt for the RAF one.
We see a difference of offerings from Corgi on this side of the Atlantic, especially in their Showcase line. No BaE Hawks in Red Arrows livery, no DH Tiger Moths, no B-747s in British liveries.
I'm willing to wager you don't see the Showcase range DC-3 in American Airlines markings, nor the B-1, B-52, or several other American types. Pity we have to resort to eBay to access each other's diecast aircraft... :(

Not yet with Gemini Jets but it must be on the cards as they have recently introduced the C17, C130 and now the An124. I hope it's the Starlifter first though. The great thing is that the boxes don't take up so much space (about 1/3 of a WW2 fighter Legend box)

E-mailed GemJetsl ast night asking if there are any new GeminiMacs in the pipeline as they haven't produced any for months. Also asked if they are planning to produce the C-5 as I have held off on buying the Dragon one's so far. Here is their response...
"Thanks for expressing an interest in our product!
We are close to releasing a reworked mold of the C-17 which may interest you.
As far as a C-5, it is not something in the works but your suggestion has been noted."
Hopefully that means they have sorted out the nasty join between the fuselage and wings.

I wish someone would do this in a bigger scale, like 1/200th or better still 1/144th

Interesting stuff, a new C-17 would be nice as the join lines were a bit awful on the previous version!
Although I didn't get one, I had a look at the Dragon C-5B last year and it's a very good model, no plastic wings on this one either! ;)
(Yes that was a positive comment about Dragon! Shock horror, quick call the press! :D )

Nice pic, we just happen to know one of the guys from the 56th! They're in the process of moving with their five Pavehawks from Iceland to Lakenheath.
