P-51D 44-72773 (G-SUSY) has been bought by Tony "Taff" Smith and is heading to the Real Aeroplane Company at Breighton North Yokshire in March. The aircraft is one of the collection formerly owned by the late Paul Morgan who was sadly killed in a landing accident flying his Sea Fury FB 11 "Baby Gorilla", and has been stored at Sywell ever since. Before its purchase by Paul Morgan, 44-72773 was operated by Charles Church and flown on the UK airshow circuit.
The aircraft wears the markings of "Suzy" of the 4th Fighter Group based at Debden Essex.
There is also a couple of interesting restoration projects under way in the shape of Spitfire Mk1 X4276, which was flown by Al Deere, and another P-51 Mustang.

I know a Charles Church Spitfire MkV (G-MKVC) crashed near Blackbushe on 02/07/89 - don't know if he was the actual pilot

Didnt Charles suffer a warbird accident..?
Yes he did, another in what seems like a long list of casualties. :(
We've reported pretty much what's written here, but for more information check out the Real Aeroplane Company's website at http://www.realaero.com, and click on the "Bugle", which is their news page.
The list for newbies at Legends grows ever longer! :D

Very glad that 'Susy' is staying in the UK. I'll always remember her arriving at a North Weald fly-in a few years back in spectacular style piloted by the late Paul Morgan.
