Hi,
After seeing some great pics on diorama, I'd like to have advices about figure (scale 1/72) that can be used with Corgi AA or Dragon warbirds...
Which ones ? Which makers ? Plastic or metal ? How to have an homogeneous result ?...
I don't want a full diorama...I'm can't do it...not too patient... but for example just pilots, eventually maintenance vehicules and landing field.
Thanks for your help. :)

A good start - which I have done - is go onto E-Bay and see what Airfix vehicles are available.
You can still get the refueling Set; Emergency Set and Recovery Set - also if your lucky sometime the RAF Personel box is available.
All good to bring your plane to life :)

I'll second that - those old Airfix sets were very good indeed. Apart from the figures, the AEC Matador bowser is an all-time favourite of mine and makes a wonderful addition to any 'wheels-down' 1/72 Lanc. And then there's the tractor and bomb trolleys from the Stirling..... :)
Pity someone can't re-make the whole lot at a budget price. :(

Why go to evilbay? All those kits are still readily available at a good model shop, or online at Ha**ants. I saw the old Airfix USAAF set recently which is now packaged in Heller boxes. However we still have no sign of a return of the Luftwaffe set. :(
Personally I prefer the 1/72 white metal figures as they come in more believable poses, plus the paint sticks better, plus they generally come in threes so you don't end up with a whole box of figures that you won't use!
If you want top quality white metal figures go for Mastery Miniatures a bit more expensive at £9.99 for three, so not advisable for beginners. I used these on my Fw190D-9 Diorama.
If not the Airwar figures are good too, and at £1.65 you can afford to experiment. (See my Mustang and Thunderbolt Diorama's for Airwar figures.)

Okey if you have a good model shop near by we don't and as for Hannants - well placed an order with them two weeks ago for some decals and no sign of them yet.
Not owned by Cyber Robbery by any chance!!!!

Have you tried asking the nice people at 'Diverse Images' as they paint and use the Mastery Miniatures range of figures in the diarama's that they produce?

Yeah we saw some at the Lincoln Toy Fair but they were for the Train Brigade, pre-painted and everything.
Cannot see a Station Manager taxing out a plane though !!!!!!

I have seen prepainted Wehrmacht troops in 1:144 (yes 1:144!) including some Fallschirmjager. Also some Russian and US troops. Sadly no ground crew.

Did actually find some Hasagawa ones not long back on E-Bay, but not got around to doing anything with them yet.
They were mostly modern figures if I remember rightly - looked good though.
