Heard this morning that the RAAF display team the Roulettes suffered the loss of two aircraft just after 10am AEDT.
The team is based at RAAF East Sale and operates on a part time basis with pilots drawn from the Central Flying School the team currently flies the Pilatus PC-9. Apparently the two PC-9s collided while rejoining formation and no other aircraft were damaged. One of the damaged aircraft managed to land, however the other was out of control and it's pilot Flight Lieutenant Arnie Moorscheck, ejected safely.
In the 15 years the team have operated the PC-9, this is their first loss, a superb safety record by any standard.
