Just a thought if Corgi made the Vulcan grey/green camo and white undersides they could market in both AA and their James Bond range as the one from Thunderball.

:D Agent,

I know not the answer to your question ! :o

:) Mr. SN-UK,

This was put to a representative of our beloved Corgi some years ago and dismissed as worthless!! Typical, as I have had more than one enquiry from modellers for scrap Vulcan models to use in Thunderball dioramas!!...

Seemingly to Corgi the term 'Lateral Thinking' is completely alien!!

Another opportunity missed has to be the AA/Film tie in with the 633 Squadron Mosquito!!! it has been suggested on several occasions !!! Do they listen ?? Nah!!......

I remember on the 'old forum' this was discussed!!

633/Mosquito Squadron Mossie

Battle of Britain Spitfire/Hurricane...

James Bond Vulcan is a good shout too!!!

However I think the possibility of the two 'departments' working together was dismissed as 'ridiculous' :p

Come on guys you should know by now...two departments working together...well its just laughable!! I mean we might increase product exposure!! Then where would we be....Tut tut!!!

:D Mr. Charley,

It all goes to show lack of imagination within the inner sanctum of our so called manufacturer of diecast models !!! Yet more opprtunities lost imho....... other examples being Concorde, the Red Arrows etc. etc. .......sigh.......

Concorde!!!! I know there 'arent enough schemes' but people were going NUTS for Concorde last year!!!! Im sure a 1:144 Concorde would have given them a better return than most stuff thats been released in the last year!!! Airfix claim that they had 'Sold Out' of Concorde Kits and that thay had doubled production!!! i know its not quite the same in comparison but if thats for a kit imagine what people would go for a ready made die cast model!!!

As for the Reds...wellwe got those...all 9 of em with individual Pilot profiles... Slight snagg though in that they were bloomin SHOWCASE

The Vulcan was a B2 how about a Thunderball three set Vulcan,C97 for the para-frogmen and civy B17 with Fulton STAR recovery system?

Corgi did do a Concorde in the form of a Gemini jets twin pack, but it turned into a bit of a farce as it didn't even make the shelves in time for Christmas, never mind the Concorde mania in October. Crazy. Yet another missed oppotunity.

I'm not a civil collector but a 1:144 Concorde would been a certain addition to the collection, as I'm sure there would have been fight breaking out amogst the people wanting Concorde souvenirs and those serious collectors dying for a new 1:144 civil mould.

How about a book tie-in as opposed to a film one- the El Al Concorde from the Nelson de Mille book "By the Rivers of Babylon"

Possibly, but I'm not sure it'd have the same mass appeal films do.

Would not happen anyway - they have probably exhausted the toolings hence why nothing this time around for the 1st Half 2005, and the lackluster one we had in the 2nd Half 2004.

I don't collect 'em but god forbid we see them relegated onto the Legends series <urrggghhh>
