Oh, how fitting that would be!
What a tribute to those brave boys from the Commonwealth that we owe so much to!
And, we mustn't forget those brave volunteers from the antipodes either!

Yep.. The new Flypast magazine.... Small article, snippet saying it is only a request and not gospel that teh Canadian Lancaster may be appearing, but the logistical problems, trans-atlantic crossing and also funding is against them and needs to be worked out...... Check it out....

I tend to remain pessimistic over matters such as the Lanc. Old planes, lots of ocean etc...
Be great if it came off though :) :) :)

I've heard back from Laura Hassard, CWHM Administration/Legends Flight Co-ordinator, regarding the discussions on this thread:
"There have been discussions about this but no decision has been made at this point."
Well......they haven't said no :)

Although I can't really see it happening, I would just love to see and hear the two Lancs together.
Call me an eternal optimist - I'd like to see a FlugWerk 190, Me-262, Bf109E ( a real one, not a Buchon ).....
And before you say anything, PlaneJunky, shut up ! Allow me my fantasies..... ;) :p

well a 190 is a possibility... and apparently the Me109 at Wattisham has been doing engine runs - would be nice if it flew here before being crated up and going to USA... Planejunky - aren't you down that way.. got any spies on base??!

the Collins Foundation have also looked at bringing their B24 over, however it was gonna cost them $300,000 and they felt they wouldnt recoup enough to make it worthwhile especially as their main income comes from the 'pleasure flights' which they'd have probs convincing the CAA to allow them to do over here :D so would've been a double whammy for 'em, loss of income and extra cost.. shame.. I've never seen a B24 fly.. :( unless of course Lofty and Agent enterprises would like to sponsor them?!! I supose they'd draw the line though at having to paint the a/c pink.. :D
