The Defiant Man

Prices seem to be even lower than NEC & Harrogate for some of the bigger stuff. Not surprised, need to clear the shelves for all of the new stuff.

:D Seems my earlier post has attracted a little interest which is more than can be said for the turn out of Forum members yesterday at Doncaster. It is also interesting to note that another major fair, Shepton Mallet, was on yesterday and so far not a single word about it !!...........

What I was going to say has now been adequately covered by Mr. Snafu and provides yet further evidence of depressed prices, as if we needed any more!!......... :(

:) The other piece of 'news' is that the Witty Wings MkIX Spitfire looks an interesting value for money model. However there have apparently only been 1,000 produced and all remaining stock has been reputedly 'snapped' up by one prominent UK dealer!!!........... :(

Yes spock.... To be honest... Its a case of too many releases, too many toy fairs and the catch-up of Xmas and New year bills and I think I speak for a lot of people..... :D

As for Witty Wings.... Checkout the Forum thread and our Page that covers this already...... :D Keep yer ears ter the ground and you will find out another 1000 will be produced in time, but correct with amendments.... Think this has already been covered too.... ;)

:D Mr. CFBC,

Thank you for the update, the 'point' I was trying to make was where they have all gone........ ;)

BLUE SKY
7th February 2005, 21:01
I think you will find that this perhaps is a little creative marketing by this particular dealer because there is plenty of stock available - you just need to know where and they most certainly have not bought up the entire Uk stock !!

spock1
7th February 2005, 21:08
:) Mr. Blue Sky,

Welcome to the Forum. Keyword on this occasion was 'remaining' as in stock with manufacturer. As you rightly point out there will doubtless be a good number laid about elsewhere. Depends what the initial take up was by wholesalers/dealers especially with it being a new product in a currently rather sleepy and swamped market place!!....... ;)

Not a bad fair - caught up with Blue Sky and Spock to chew the fat of recent Forum goings on!

Ended up with the Israeli Mossie/Mustang for £25, the Suez Canberra for £25 and Tempus Fugit for £12.

Prices seen included:
Pistol Packing Mama £20
Cawn't Miss it £18
8th Airforce Set £29.50
Wellingtons £40
B52's £12.50
P51's £12-£15
Ceylon Hurricane £10
Jumpin Jaques £35
Stinger £20

Quite a few dealers also selling the Witty range. Generally in the £11-12 range.

Sorry, couldn't make it.....
See Libs still falling....thought I did well at £25 at NEC before Xmas.....Suez Canberra seems to have stopped falling though. Ceylon Hurri.....one for the future (low run).

Popped into Doncaster toyfair today on-route back to the CFBC mansion and didn't come away with much. I must say that the new Legend Connie looked rather nice (have this pre-ordered, sorry) :)

Not many stalls having the full range of AA's, and Dragons (only four) throughout the enitre toyfair, but then there were smaller stalls here and there showing signs of buying at higher prices previous and being left with high priced stock (compared to what is now about)..... Make sense? :D

Didn't see any of the new Forces of Valor range, no new plastic range or even any new FOV armour which I was a little sad about...... Not to worry... Had to keep my hands in my pocket, :o :o and come away with two older releases at bargain prices..... Saw a couple of IXO's and a handful of Wittys...... New jets looked good also.... Twenty quid.

All in all I think it had been busy as I arrived about lunchtime (following a busy drinking session the night before).

Good to meet who I met, thanks. :)

P.S - The 1/32nd Mossies were cheaper than 70 quid though, sorry.

Agent X20

CFBC..

Giving Corgi and Dragon their due....... the FOV stuff in the main seems to be crap.. or krap if the asterix king takes over... their Stukas infact look decidedly carp and also to my old eyes.. a tad small...???? The Connie ( compared to their latest camouflaged carp) is a star and will eventually form part of the Agent inheritance, just not sure about all this price fixing thats hapenning..

Therefore it would appear Doncaster a little like Huntingdon... IMHO okay.. but not as many bags walked out the place as the dealers would have liked..

Mossie fifty notes.. take yer pick...

Lofty Agent as ever.. leave this until they are three for a ton... :D

Thanks, Snaffs, some interesting prices there.

Will certainly get a 1 sqn set at that price if there's any left by the time of the Harrogate fair.

Jags & Meteors now falling too.......and as for 1/32's, blimey.....percentage-wise these must be the kings of the bins!

Agent X20
14th November 2005, 09:39
There we go .... £30 and a number one is yours...

Some interesting prices...

The Lofty Agent favourite here has to be the McKnight Hurri - this at a tenner has to be the current bargain and possible future three figure candidate...

See the Jags didnt stay long at twenty quid...

Interesting to see the Israeli number losing a whole tenner, last I saw of those, they seem to have stabilised at £25... £15 again is a veritable bargain especially if you want to repaint Mossies or Mustangs....

DCRanger
14th November 2005, 11:25
Shame about the Israeli set because it really is very nice. At £15 I'd be tempted to get a second set.

Popped along, no signs outside (apparently ther council had them taken down). Not a patch on the race course venue. Very little aviation stuff around compared to normal. The D-Day marked B25 was going for £29 though , which was very good. You could also bag a 1/32nd scale ME109 for less than £20 and the Mrs Bonnie nose art was £8....

I do have to say Mr Spock's stall looked good and he was very busy knocking out 1/32nd Hurri's when I passed by!

Was impressed with the number of sellers there and the range

Now very skint, as there was some nice diecast that I haven't seen anywhere and a lot of railway stuff that was surprisingly cheaper than even the railway specific shows.......

Came away with a boscombe hunter, a red 6 and a S&S dambusters....

Now well and truly skint
