An outfit called 21st Century has a range of 1/18 scale fighters on the market for prices ranging from around $45 for a P-51 to $75 for a P-38. They include figures etc.
To see them go to http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/ .

If anyone fancies an ornament for their garden, the RAF Museum Shop is flogging off piles of 'Corgi' 1/18 aircraft ( Spit, 109, P-40, P-40 ) for under thirty quid......

I wouldnt mix the two... Bombadier is a beer... the brown ale like stuff.. Stella.. whilst a beer is of the yellow.. sterile chemical pi** variety... the two should not be confused... :D :D

In The States they are made by 21st Century Toys, you can get them for about $40 US at some of our Walmart department stores, also at several places on the Web for up to about $60 US. They are heavy plastic, very easy to assemble by snapping on the wings and a few other smaller pieces. They come with pilot figures with articluated arms and legs, pretty fair quality, faces actually look fairly human. I have a Spit, two Stukas, an ME-109, an FW-190, and Papa Boyington's Corsair. 21st Century makes several models of each of the above species, also some P-51's and P-47's, a P-40 as I recall, also coming out with a TBF Avenger. Cockpits are detailed, the planes have decent paint jobs, some with some good weathering, and the size is impressive (and I ain't even a Texan!). But I do prefer the Corgi 1/32 scale metal fighters overall.
Sailor.

Got one last Saturday for twenty five quid, they are striking in size, passable in finnish and lightweight enough to dangle from the emporium ceiling on fishing line. :)

Yes there was a Stall at Waddington, had the P40; Stuka; Spit; ME190; F15 and F16, on the Sunday evening they had put togther the F16, and I must say it looked AWESOME; at 39 notes for a 1/18th Scale F16 I WAS sorely tempted but managed to resist.
Only problem is where the hell do you put them once put together - as they are plastic - garden ornament perhaps - add some electronic wizardary, so that when next doors cat comes and Cr@ps in your garden he gets an AMRAM up his jacksy :D :D

D-Day Spit looks much better than Corgi's offering!

How? The 1/72 scale Corgi D-Day Spitfire can hardly be compared to a 1/18 scale plastic offering?

Well, the 21CT D-Day Spit looks much more realistic...
