Nice photo - pity he couldn't have cleaned the lens, though - those fly spots in the middle spoil it...... ;)

Neil, my frustrated friend, help is at hand. A friend of mine, Jim Goodall, is a modeler, photographer, author, and all-around aviation geek. He's written about a dozen books or so, and would rather be around airplanes than eat. I knew him for a number of years through our association as members of the Twin City Aero Historians in Minneapolis before he moved out west.

He is currently the Restoration Manager on the de Havilland Comet IV held by the Seattle Museum of Flight (see links), and was on the scene to photograph the Me 262 during much of its flight testing at Paine Field, Everett, Washington State (about 30 miles north of Seattle).
Enjoy! :D

Bob, excellent links again, helped pass my nightshift!! :D the guy is a real Comet enthusiast, nice touches like restoring the hyd. bays to show off the innovation on the aircraft... for some bizzare reason I didn't visit the MOF when I was in Seattle on a visit to Boeings... I think I was going through a phase of being more interested in motorcycles than aircraft so visited the local bike shops instead... did get to fly back to London though on a brand spanking new B747-400 though... :D The Stormbird team also seem like a good well thourght out set-up having planned a number of versions of their aircraft - the single/dual seat 'convertible' version is an interersting idea !

If you have difficulty passing the hours on your nightshift, Neil, perhaps you need one of these:

I think the dayshift man may come in to find a gibbering wreck (me!) hiding in the corner surrounded by piles of shredded card! nice idea though!
