Could this be the model to create a shift to 1/200?

Not a bad looking piece of diecast, but I'd rather have it in 1:400.

Now that new Porter Dash 8... I'll be having one of those.

What would you do with it in 1:72? Fly it?

It would need its own hangar I think.

Cheers mate, looks good if a little pricey. I'd love to see Airfix or someone tackle this and a Tristar. The Tristar even in 1:144 is sadly lacking :( I wouldn't mind scratchbuilding the drogue housings etc, but you're still faced with the problem of decals for it. As a result, this Gemini one is a must, and long overdue :cool

Gemini actuallky did the RAF Tristar in that scheme in 1/400. It was apparently only available in the airport at Hong Kong as a special edition but Mr Noble found one for me and it has a good place in my 400 scale RAF collection. The model is now exceedingly hard to track down and very rarely if ever appears on Ebay.

Too right, and one of the most bizzarre commercial decisions ever, do an RAF aircraft, but make it impossible to get from the UK  I too have looked for one to no avail. Will settle for this one instead though :cool

Have to say that I was so determined to get hold of that model that it's the only one I have ever paid more than premium for! £50 for a 1/400 Tristar four years ago and that is the last one I've ever seen available. Remainign in nice mint condition though!

... and the real thing last year. I can't wait for one in the RAF's current scheme.

That is nice Mr TSR, gather though from some quarters a lot of them have faults, seems you struck lucky with that one..... Door to door diecast man was going to drop one off, but as he only had the one for himself didn't want a recurrence of what happened last time so declined the offer to photograph...:D

Mine too is absolutely fine, hoping it'll not be the last! A pale blue with small roundel one and a grey one would both be "must acquire" ones too, so fingers crossed. What sort of faults have they been suffering with Mr A?

Dunno.. one dealer Mr O stated that out of 8 or so 6 had gone back... anything like the quality on the EasyJet 737's I could well believe it...:)

Yeah that was pretty poor. Paintwork isn't perfect on the very top of the tail, looks like a slight flaw in the casting, but not noticeable, and overall I'm very happy with it :). Seems for once I've been lucky rather than getting the only one in the batch that is faulty as I normally do!

This does look very nice, but I guess I prefer this scheme to the endless sea of grey found on todays aircraft. ;)

The RAF 'white top' 1/200 collection is coming along nicely - although I fear a long wait for a Comet..

Now that Tristar looks very nice indeed. But I don't do 1/200 scale.......do I?or do I?? Having seen the Brit and the VC10, I could be convinced. :)

Nice shot Mr A and the Tristar is a beauty, that VC-10 looks a little strange somehow though...?

Very nice Agent, that line up contains my three favorite airliners and all in the smartest of RAF schemes, but I don't do 1:200 so must resist, resist!

I think it's the angle of the wings and the black anti glare panel, I never saw one quite like that when I was at BZN.
