See a BOAC 707 made £80 on the Bay.. Dan Air Comets will no doubt be a ton soon... 1/200th BOAC VC10 is currently sitting at £150.. 1/200 DC8's well over a ton...
Got the feeling you kinda missed the target there Corgi....
Make a darn site more profit out of a few carefully chosen 1/144 civils than some of the stuff you are currently producing.. civils yer should have produced the first time round..??.
rant over.... time for medicine.. :D

Well hopefully Mr Dutch Yankee Connie person there is something in the pipeline.. hope its something fresh or at least an iconic scheme... Sure a VC10 would give them enough subjects and satisfy the military minded as well.. Not too sure that a re engined AWACS is the answer..

I will just say that it would be an awful waste if Corgi did not dress its new Super Connie in anything other than the Blue Angels' colors...

Square windowed Starliner..?
Oh, don't get me wrong: the Starliner (L-1649) would be nice, but would require a new wing. The standard Super Connie (L-1049), on the other hand, is ready to roll. :D The only real question is when the first civilian L-1049 will be released, and what its colors will be. Though, I guess another "real" question would focus on when the second civilian L-1049 will be released, and what its colors will be. :p
Shifting gears only slightly, I continue to hope (vainly?) that someday Corgi is able to move ahead with a United Airlines Stratocruiser. I know: Uncle Albert has told us that Corgi walked away from the possibility of doing a UAL Stratocruiser after the airline behaved rather badly, but I still dream that cooler heads will prevail at some point, and my favorite Stratocruiser will grace Corgi's line-up.

:D Think you will probably find this is a case of nobody can make up their mind and commit to something. Likely too many unsold civvies closely followed by their military cousins !!...........

Thats cos they dont market them correctly.... the civils would outsell the military stuff.. no.. change last statement.. they would/could make more profit on the civil stuff per gram of die cast.. IF they put their minds to it.. if they wanto buy me a beer I'll tell em how..

I agree with Agent...There is a Market for Civils....Shop in a Hotel near a big Airport would probably vouch for that but the brand is all over the place....
Corgi its self is undoubtably the strongest Brand/image in the Market, after that however its a nightmare....Legends, AA's 'odd themes' (Suez!) There is NO justification in a Legend at £14 RRP and a AA at £24 RRP...all this is diluting the brand... Ditch both and have one! Quite simple...if it means we have to have U/C down then fine but at least give us a decent box...
The 1:144 Civils need to be Marketed in a complete different way....Concorde would be a good start.... A model which will sell and sell and sell...Its highly likely this will end up in the hands of tourists or used as gifts, People will buy even if there is no serious passion in aviation...everyone loves Concorde...After this license to Print Money is on the Shelves the other more specialist stuff is easily funded..VC10 etc
Any way what the F$$$ would i know!
