This may be quite a bit different than the other art that is discussed, etc., here.
As many of you know, I've kind of gotten consumed by this Avro Arrow thing ('nutter' status -- reading my 4th book now) and thought, 'why don't I create a splash screen for my iPod Touch (same as iPhone)?'
So in a moment of boredom at work -- yeah -- why not?
I really liked the dynamics of that Aurora kit art from the late 50s/early 60s, but all sorts of things about it didn't work for a vertical 'portrait' format that the iPod Touch has.

OK -- then a newly created piece will be in order, INSPIRED by the Aurora artwork. I wanted the image to feature the CWH model, have some reference to the aurora borealis, and have killer dynamics. (Yes, the model was shot just sitting on my desk on its u/c, then a bit of Photoshop was employed.)

The first one (above) is a single Arrow streaking on its way 'to stand on guard for thee'. Oh yeah, that's looking the part, but what does that look like with two?

OH YEAH!! That's it for sure, IMPO. I like the double which I have on my iPod Touch right now. FYI: The black bars are where the 'slide to unlock' panel is so that area looks really nice and crisp.
IF anyone wants to use these themselves:
All you have to do is download one or both from here (they're the correct size) and dump them into your iPhoto folder. Once you do a sync, sync the 'photos' and your choice will be available to you when you select 'wallpaper' in the 'settings'.
Conditions of Use:
