Wow...£149.95!! Does that come with Lube?
I hope the pic isn't the finished product because it is terrible! The panels lines, decals even the paint.. Yuk!

Naw.. thats Sals blo*dy awful photographs...:D :D :D He should stick to bunnies...
The model is a sweet little number.. very much hand made and locally constructed..
Squillions of megapixels don't do Smallworlds any favours..

When I can see the decal carrier, the wheels are coming off the buggy, IMHO. That was the only thing I seriously disliked about the original Western Models. Those nasty decals. Mind you, for a locally hand-made product like Small World's, I guess they have to use decals.
On the 'up-side', it probably is the only 1:200 B-58 (until Herpa or GJ make one, that is!)! Not for me, though . . . too expensive, too small, and too 'rough' looking.

Small World Models are guaranteed that for the life of the proprietor that the model will be replaced if the decals go yellow..
Martin did explain it to me.. something about the decals that Western used were oil based which is why there is the yellowing after time....
Dont forget Mr Sufa that you will get 10% off with an ARD card...

Yes Mr. Agent that's nice, but I think I'll wait for Dragon's 1/200th version now that they've announced a 'comeback'. See my post @ Other Scales? ;) :D

Well, it really wasn't the yellowing that was the immediate put-off, it was the flaking. I know of two very large retailers here who eventually refused to order from the old Western Models, as decals would often flake off in a customers hands as they examined a model!
Outside of that, Western WAS highly regarded here, and everyone here just wished they'd sort the markings out. Looks like hey did now -- big time -- if that TCA Connie is anything to judge them by!! Maybe they'll do up their old CPA Britannia again . . . this time with the tampo printed markings!! ;)
Anyhow, I avoid decals like the plague unless they are on one of MY 'creations'. :D;)

Ten years and it must have been played with in the sandpit.. described as mint by a dubious seller....
No flakes here..... but dead scruffy....

No doubt, miracles can happen, eh? That is the up-side of having things made by hand in your own country. Gotta give credit where credit is due.;)
Love the story, but I'm still not fond of decals. :cool
