Actually this is a redo of several older redos of this model, which disappointed me greatly when I first received it due to its choice of colors and the poor "sand and spinach" camouflage job it sported. In any event, I dug out my Sardinai HE-111, dusted it off, sanded off some of my own inadequate prior attempts at repaints and started over. This time, I wanted to give the model a weathered, battle worn look and the green blotches were intended to resemble a hastily sprayed, somewhat frayed add-on to the basic sand yellow upper surface. So I huffed and I puffed and got, more or less the result I wanted, in the process adding a landing light and some fuel ports that were missing in the original model. Here are some pictures. First a topside shot of the model as I received it:

The way it should have looked like right from the start. This Heinkel always was a big disappointment to me - I love desert schemes, but never could love this one. It just looks completely technicolored, and then some. If it had looked like yours I never would have sold it.
Another great job EP!

Thanks, David. I thought about doing that on this project but the sanded down version didn't seem to show very much so I just went ahead and applied the new sand color, followed by the green. I'll keep your request in mind and comply when possible. BTW, I only brush paint, though I've developed a technique that gives a sprayed on look in many cases. The basic idea is to brush the blotch or mottling pattern on lightly, using dabs of thinner on the edges to create a softer joining with the base color. This is followed by a bit of very light sanding---again, on the edges----and, finally, by a slightly darker application in the middle of the blotches. I know that spraying would give me better results, however, my nasal passages are very sensitive to the resulting fumes---even if I wear a mask---- and, this, plus the hassle of changing the paint, cleaning up, etc. has led me to brushing exclusively.
