Anyone care for one of these in 1/32, or 1/72?

Of course, B/S, 1/72 would go a treat......my airfix 1/72 can then go on the preverbial "flight" out of the upstairs window :D

(P40 already on the runway......)

Let's have some thing a little bit more unusual like the TT IIIA as used by the US 8th airforce. Or why not go the whole hog and have the the tandem wing version with 4 gun turret as seen here:

I honestly think that a Lysander would make a most unusual and attractive 1/72 diecast. If Corgi can do a Wellington, why not ?

:) Would make an excellent choice for a model. The Lysander was a most useful and much under rated aircraft, high time it gains the recognition it so richly deserves imho........ :)

Yep... Was a dam good workhorse and for it to appear as a diecast, well... Top notch.

I agree Martin. I built a Matchbox 1/72nd scale Lizzie when I was a kid, and it's a very nice size. 1/32nd would look great but how many people can honestly say they have room for loads of 32nd scale models. On average, you could fit four 1/72's for every 32nd aeroplane (probably 6 for the Mossie) so the economics simply don't add up for Corgi to keep producing such a scale. I loved the Mosquitos but just can't give em house room. :(

Beautiful, P/J, thanks for the photo. The Bystander is one of my favorite aircraft and I'd love to see Corgi do one. 1/32 would allow sliding canopies, moving leading edge slats, and perhaps even a clandestine Agent X20 or two for figures.

I'd still take one in 1/72, though.

Your photo bird looks much better than my old 1/48 Hawk Lizzie. I built that almost 38 years ago and was the first model I ever airbrushed. Beginning of the learning curve.... ;)

I also like the codes on the aircraft in your photo: Martin A. Bull. :D

Beautiful, P/J, thanks for the photo.

We take many photos throughout the year, and to be honest we don't know who actually took the shot half the time! However I can't take credit for that one, that's definately Snapper's picture taken at Old Warden August last year, nice shot isn't it. It's quite hard to get a good picture of that machine as the black paint makes it hard to pick out any of the detail. She did a great job that day!

Bob,

A Lysander would make a fine subject in 1/72 scale. But would Corgi have the 'guts' to do it? They have mainly stuck with the mainstream products but with aircraft like the Wellington they have shown that they can sometimes be a bit adventurous. A black 'spy drop' Lysander would be awesome!

Now I AM impressed, an American who knows the quality of Brit comedy! :D :D I assume you guys got the series out there too? I was pleasantly surprised to see the sort of stuff that gets onto BBC America! :)

Oh, indeed, P/J, my fine dioramic friend, we are inundated with Britcoms: Monty Python, Fawlty Towers (John Cleese is obviously quite insane, which is why he's my favourite), Butterflies, The Fall & Rise of Reginald Perrin, 'allo 'allo, Dr. Who, Blake's whatsits, & etc.

No offense (offence), but you characters can keep Eastenders. :D

But then, what do I know? I'm from Barcelona.

P.S.: There's absolutely no way I can keep from having a major cardiac event whenever I watch "Mr. Bean". This series should be banned. (I think I lost it when his Mini-Cooper was run over by the Challenger tank.... :D )

What????? Mr Bean funny?

Try 'Blackadder' for size - though the fourth series was more of a documentary IMO....... ;)

Agent X20

The fourth series was a true to life documentary.. it was exactly as my grandfather described to me the four years he spent in the trenches.. I only wish that he could have seen it...

Blackadder decides to pretend to have gone mad so puts a pair of underpants on his head, a pencil up each nostril and the only word he will say is 'wibble'... unfortunately the General has seen this ploy before...

Thanks, Ara, but you're being generous. That Bystander was the first model I airbrushed, long, long ago in a galaxy far away. :D

yes i always thought that was sad, it was done very well IMHO considering it was a comedy programme

Blackadder is absolutely superb, I have every episode ever made on video, it's British comedy at its absolute best, and I agree "Goodbyeeeee" is one of the most fitting ends ever to a series, kind of summed it all up, and it captures the moment better than any film. It's the bit when it fades to the field of poppies that gets me, it gives you goosebumps

Craig

Oh yeah, almost forgot, a Lysander? Definately! Lovely aeroplane in my opinion, has character but quite a handsome aeroplane to me.
