Nah - She was doing the ironing and I got all my chores done sooner!!! ;)

So, with a lovely Lincolnshire day I deceided to have a play.... Gotta admit that the display did look bl**dy good and with the new CHC Commission, I am sorry, it would really set that off more.... :)

Yes Ara it its nice. The 78th Fighter Group were based at Duxford, and IMHO it was one of the best unit markings of the 8th AAF!

Here's a couple of pics of the UK's P-47D which bears the markings of Ben Mayo's "No Guts No Glory". Sadly the real 42-26671 was lost on 19th July 1944 killing its pilot Maj. Norman D Munson. :(

Once again UK Warbirds comes thru with excellent photos. Thanks! Hey PJ, just read in the latest Aeroplane or FlyPast about a recovered P-39 in a Russian lake-- have you heard if any UK buyers are interested? It's being stored in the UK.

Sorry CFBC for hijacking yer thread...

Haven't heard anything as yet. I'm saving the April issue of Flypast for the nine hour flight to Chicago on Wednesday! Looks like a superb issue, especially as it has a feature on the 78th FG, AND and interview with "Sherman Was Right" pilot Frank Oiler!

I'm bad with months but good with covers. My FlyPast has the Corsair on the cover. I'm not at home at the moment so can't check the issue date.

Anyway, you'll get a lot out of the P-39 story. One thing I learned was that it provided it's own ferrying from it's New York manufacturing plant- yes it flew thousands of miles to get to the USSR. That amazes me.

There'll never be a better time than now to put a replica of CFBC's display together.

'Bit o'Lace' currently available at ( ahem ! ;) ) a very reasonable price, 'NGNG' still on sale at £15 ( it must be the best/cheapest combination ever ).

Okay, so you'll have a job finding 'BBD' from either Corgi or Dragon, but there's still some 'TT's available from CHC..... ;)
