Driving along Metheringham's old runway is an evocative experience, not to be missed by any Bomber Command enthusiast. Good museum too......

only found it this morning havnt had a good look at it yet, i find the old airfields very interesting,theres a book i have got called "round the clock" there are some nice pics of old airields and buildings in this, i would love to go round some of these....mrs mint thinks i am soooooooooo sad.Lincs is a long drive from darkest dorset, but one day.. :rolleyes:

Still, make a long weekend :combine it with an East Kirkby taxy-run and a visit to the MOD-surplus aircraft hangar CFBC is buying to house his AA collection in....... ;)

Yeah, For Minter that's a journey and a half, but stop in this fair City and I am sure that we can russle a few members for a quiet pinta under the shadow of the Cathedral. Maybe a tour of the CFBC hanger too.... <gulp>

East Kirby is about 45-50 minutes away, Woodhall about 35-40 minutes away also. Newark Air Museum is around 20 minutes away Minter.
