Not sure If I have shared this one here.
When my grandfather passed away, I was going through some of his stuff and came across this photo of DUGAN in bad shape. It was a thank you note from AAM Duxford on his contribution to help restore the old girl. I also found a membership card and VIP pass.

My Grandfather was a WW II vet (Chemical Corps) and would share stories freely. But he hated flying, so this was an interesting find. So when I returned home I was determined to find out more about his help with the DUGAN project. And after a few e-mails back and forth between Duxford, I decided I would take Michigan and convert her to DUGAN. Thanks to Mike Grant for the decals.

I don't ever recall seeing you share it here.... (maybe back in the MH.II days on there only ?)

In my opinion it's THE best & most subtle 'code.3' x B.24 Liberator change I've ever seen (in diecast)

Pictures may not be 'razor', but they convey the changes you made & the decals look great !

Shawn,

Great post. Who signed the note from the IWM in the framed picture?

Shawn, great code three and story. How did your grandfather come to be involved in the Dugan project?

That's a mint looking code 3 Shawn and I don't recall seeing it before either. Always wondered why Corgi never released this version especially being as its a real life Duxford plane. It would've been one that I'd have bought and kept.

Shawn, great code three and story. How did your grandfather come to be involved in the Dugan project?

I don't know how he got envolved, he never spoke of it. Duxford said he had been a paying member or whatever for 2 yrs. I guess he got wind of the project/museum and just felt like supporting it.
He was very proactive in community service.

Great job Shawn. I do recall seeing your pics before but that was likely on the old ModelHanger forum, so glad to see them again. :cool

Having visited Dugan on numerous occasions its nice to hear about your connection.
