I recently redid a Model Power Fiat CR.42 into a night fighter of the 234 squadron, one of the early units tasked with such duties. I added exhaust stacks, machine guns, hinges for the upper wing flaps and some struts for the undercarriage and, of course, weathering and staining. Since the plane didn't have flame dampeners for its exhausts, nor the search light under its left wing, these later enhancements are missing. Here is a picture from the upper left:

Only just seen this - very unusual 'colour' scheme, and somewhat incongruous to see a biplane as a nightfighter?
Another nice one Ed! :)

Nice one Ed. I believe the later CR42 Nightfighter varients had elongated exhaust pipes to reduce the exhaust glare and also had a rather crude airborn generator installed that powered a small search light to illuminate enemy aircraft. Not exactly state of the art but an interesting version none the less.
