Guy at work could not resist his daily fix so today he got the Alaska MD80, a big improvement IMHO on the DAL and COA 737s, it ain't nose down for starters and really does look the bizz, may even get some meself once I see what other schemes come up. Understand the afforementioned "Pigs" are already being offerred for high teens per item , that din't take long

Saw this at EMAfair, didn't have the spare readies. And the new American Airlines 737 is on its way. Just gotta get rid of my corgi 1/72nd cr*p to pay for them. :p

Wish gemini would get moving on the dc8s still waiting for Air Jamaica,Eastern and Trans Caribbean. And then the new Mexican. and then......

See Gemini have gone distinctly quiet on the Air Jamaica, Eastern and Trans Carrib I can see these being some time off now especialy as the 737s and the AMX DC8 appear to be pushed up towards the top of the q. Now what we REALLY want is the VC-10

Yup NeilD bit like a rollercoaster! Definitely dis-enchanted by Corgi now. Nothing really on offer, and now they say civils due again, but will be just a sop in an attempt to satisfy the few civil collectors short term, as opposed to a longer term commitment.
Sorry to say, but Corgi have blown it!. looking elsewhere as per 250 geminis.
This is where my money is likely to go now in continuence of a state of fulfilment. ;)

And what about 200th? Just coz you are showing off your Swiss dc8, which we haven't seen yet! :p Apart from a few at EMAfair circa 50+ notes, normally 80-150 notes.
250 is the way to go.... feel the force :D

Old post but....

looking at my Gemini 250's today noticed the nose wheel door(s) on the boeing 737 is completely wrong! It appears they have used the same assembly as on the MD80. That is that the door is to the rear of the wheel, instead of a small door each side. What a blooper. What a Bu**er! And the MD80 is just as wrong!!
What the heck are Gemini playing at. Real shame as the DC8's are absolutely on the button.
Rather have had interchangeable undercarts than this. Even my 400ths have this correct.

Just thought to post a piccy or two. First is gemini 1/250th continental 737. Second is a gemini BA 1/400th for comparison. Notice difference of nosewheel door assemblies. Finally third, my Aeromexico DC8. just for the hell of it!

Nice shots, G/B, much appreciated! The Aeromexico bird is especially fetching!

Undercart? Even Corgi gets it wrong sometimes. (I know...I know....no one will agree with me on this, will they? :D ) For example, Corgi's entire line of Boeing 707s has open main wheel well doors just hanging down in the breeze.
These would normally open to allow the landing gear to extend/retract, then would close up to smooth out the local airflow.

Maintenance personnel could open up these doors on the ground to gain access to the wheel wells and associated equipment and I'm certain this is what Corgi had in mind when the doors were molded this way.
Isn't it?
