Good link. I did a double take when I saw the heroinflight link. Perhaps it would have been better with a hyphen in the middle :)

Sadly the U-Boat is still closed to the public until June. :( The Chicago Science and Industry Museum also has a 74 Sqn Spitfire, and a desert marked Stuka, photography is difficult though due to poor lighting, but I may be able to get some shots using the tripod.
I was rather hoping that "Guns A Go Go" would be released whilst out here, but alas it's not to be. I did see an RN Buccaneer at a good price though, so it may be on the flight home along with my Dragon F-15C, New Ray Agusta MH-68A!

Ya down the Saint Lawerance Seaway threw the great lakes and under a bridge on its side an drug up on shore. ;) Amazing this U- Boat was almost scrapped  glad someone decided to make a museum piece out of it.Hollywood used this U-Boat for inside shots for the boched movie U-571,you Brits are the ones that got the enigma machine, I hate when Holywood doesnt make movies true to the fact  .

Who cares; if I want factual programmes I watch Discovery or the History channel. If I want some escapism I watch a blockbuster, so what if Tom Cruise wins the BoB; so what if Union Jack Jackson won the Pacific campaign.
If the film is enjoyable to watch that is all that matters to me.
Take marshal arts films for example if they were real the Japs/Chinese would win every pole volt event...without using the pole.
Plus if Hollywood was to make a blockbuster about say Billy Drake in the BoB it would not be as popular and probably bomb at the box office.
Ah well back to my Commando comic :)

I care.....like when G W Bush recently announced that WWII started with the attack on Pearl Harbor. OK, it did for them, but how many Americans actually think that way? Because of our cr*p history teaching, future generation's perception of what happened, by mass audience, will be based on blockbuster.....only those that are interested in the facts watch History Channel (if they've got it).

Wow in that case all films will have to be censured for realism and Historical accuracy......Result no more films. :D
As for crap History lessons, come on isn't it more important these days to be seen a PC and pro European, therefore we can't blame the Germans now can we.

1. Just a semblance of accuracy would be nice now and then....
2. Unfortunately you are quite right

Defiant Man see what Ascot thinks when (Tom Cruise) Billy Fiske is shoting down all those Stukas and 109`s,JU-88`s, 110`s,Dorniers and Tom Cruise saves Britan from the German Luffwaffe  .I do have great addmeration for Billy Fiske for what he done for such a great cause and giving his life for it, we will just half to wait and see what Hollywood does, hopefully they will tell his life story true to the fact and not screw this up. Billy was wounded badly flying his hurricane attacking a stuka supposedly.

Totally agree Tiffie....only hope it isn't dramatised to include a romance like Pearl Harbor, Titanic, etc, which totally distracts from the real story and which seems to be the trend these days (unless there was one, of course)
