Was browsing this section of the forum and as it appears that Franklin Mint is putting out a load of new models I thought I'd mention the ones that caught my eye!

Sea Harrier (modern - with no silly pointy thing sticking out of the blue vixen)

This would seem to be the full special livery for the decommisioning of 800NAS (as seen on the front of Aircraft Illustrated a couple of months ago)

Canadian CF-104

Another cool paint scheme. Very retro!

Eurofighter Typhoon (all four nations)

I want the Spanish one though...

Now if only I could find that Lufthansa JU-52 somewhere......

I hate to be picky, but that picture of the 800 Sq "Sea Harrier" is no such thing. Look where the outriggers are and the number of underwing pylons! It's an AV-8B painted up to look like a Sea Harrier.

If Corgi did this there'd be a 30 page thread denouncing them!

Hmmmmm, I thought it looked a bit odd, but was carried away by the scheme (it is only an illustration), and I retract my earlier enthusiasm. Hopefully someone can confirm that the production model is not so hideously wrong!!!!

Don't get your hopes up too much. This is the company that painted their Tornado GR1 model (complete with bombs) in 11 Sq markings and claimed it was an F.3!

Superb, a Harrier II+ dressed as a Sea Harrier!!:D A perfect illustration of why I've never rated modern Armour 1/48th models!

I just loved this bit: "To create each exciting precision model replica, the designers and engineers make an exhaustive examination of the subject replica from every conceivable angle: photographing, sketching, historical data and in many cases studying the actual plans."

Where did they tie up their guide dogs? Was the work carried on April 1st? Which "actual plans" were they using? :D :D :D :D

$64? I wouldn't give em 64 pence, this "Sea Harrier" is an absolute joke and quite frankly a bl00dy insult to collectors everywhere!

It didn't stop them painting up their Tornado GR.1 model to look like an 11 sqn F.3.

Complete with small underwing tanks, jamming pod, countermeasures pod and 4 x 1000 pounders on the underfuselage rails!

Painting a GR.7 as a Shar FA2 seems quite mild in comparison!

I do think that they don't do themselves any favours with models like this. It's not kids that are going to pay £50+ for these things but serious collectors who know what they are looking at!

Good point thought about the repercussions if corgi did something similar.
