I picked up a DeAgostini PE-2 from a Russian source who I usually buy tanks and AFVs from. This is part of a variable scale publisher's subscription package---with each model you get a booklet about the plane----and the PE-2 has about a 5.3 inch wingspan which means that it is in approximately 1:120th scale. Unfortunately, the DeAgostini line is made by a factory which is not exactly concerned about quality----or accuracy. In the case of the PE-2, its horizontal stabilizers, which should slant upward, are dead flat; a tail wheel, which should be retracted in flight, is sticking out of the lower fuselage; the bombardier's windows are painted over in underside light blue; the side and upper windows in the fuselage are in silver, and the upper surface scheme of light yellow and green is pretty fanciful. Here's how the model looked in its original form:

So, I bent the horizontal stabilizers to the correct angle, filled in some gaps with putty and redid the whole model in a more typical scheme. Here is how it looks now:

And the lower surfaces---all I kept were the red stars:

That is a stunning transformation. I've probably fancied the Pe-2 more than any Soviet twin. Yours really looks the part. :cool

Looks good, unfortunately missed this one. Still have the Il-4 in my local shops, did you pick up that one EP?

Next is a Yak-38 which I may get. The Mig 29, SU-24 & SU-27 all looked good as well.

Thanks, Wolster. I have the IL-4 on order but it hasn't shown up yet. I plan to get the Lagg-3, YAK-3, LA5FN, LA-7, PO-2, TU-128, Mig-25, MIG-35, SU-24 , SU-27 and SU-34, as well. Strange, that they didn't include the I-15, I-153 or MIG-3 on their menu.

Thanks, ZS. I have numerous other models from this series on order. I hope that I wont have to totally redo all of them. So many things to do----so little time. Sigh!

I did get the Il-4, not bad but mine has pretty noticeable anhedral on the wings, may try warming it under some hot water and bending them up a bit!

I saw the Yak-38 on the way into work this morning, will pick it up in the next day or so.
