My idea of a simple thread competion with no prizes just the fact that what you have written, achieved etc will be shown to all members and future members?
I have no idea if this would be of any interest to members or not.
I've not really looked but there is a voting system somewhere here but I have no idea if it could be used in this way?
If there is a possible go or sadly a no go please let admin no :)
I am in no way involved in this if voting is agreed but it would be nice, in my opinion, for members to get recognition for their contribution to the enjoyment and knowledge of various skills passed on to members?
Comments invited by all. Good or carp? Balls in your court folks.

Hi Triumph I am not included mate as its my idea. But thanks for the thought :D Is it a good idea? Just trying to get non posters (lurkers  ) to state their opinion.
Its probably a daft thing to post a thread on but I thought I would seek opinions. It could be interesting? Or a total flop :D

Think it's a great idea old_un, but there's no reason why you shouldn't be included just because it's your suggestion. We could have a best per category and a best overall vote. As for method I know we have the thread rating tool already built in to the forum, but does it also count the number of votes? Admins?

Good idea mate;)
I vote for the thread which had the demise of Corgi based on an interview with the CEO as the winner in the 'humour' section. Talk about "lemming fever"

I love the idea, just need to formulate a candidates list, perhaps members should start recommended threads that can go into a final vote.;)

No4mkit Gets my vote also for the tremendous camship scratch built diorama. That takes the hat and earns the cigar in my humble opinion.

Dan I have little knowledge of what or cant be done with this type of forum. My idea was to put the idea forward so admin might see it and possibly sort it out to everyones satisfaction.
Either they haven't seen the thread or ignored it, or hoped that a member would take up the mantle.
If anyone has a workable solution as to how to achieve whatever then put forward the ideas.

Expanding a bit on my last post, we could have a favorite thread vote from each of the major forum sections: Civil, Military, Misc, Events, etc. Don't think a poll would work as you have to build the list and there's far too many options. Again, I'd suggest the thread rating tool if Admin's can tell us if the count can be obtained. Not sure if controls can be put in place so it might be down to the honour system of each member voting once per section. Oh, we're ferked now...
