Couple of things of my own i have been improving by removing the often overscale and poor plastic ones.
Firstly you need some sprue cutters or razor saw,a flat jewellers file, pinvise and micro drill bits.
Remove the offending item with the cutters or saw leaving just a small amount of the plastic pitot attached to the radome.
Next file the tip flat then take a micro drill bit smaller than the diameter of the new one to make a pilot hole.
Once that is done find a bit the exact size and slowly drill again,a few turns should get through the plastic.
You need the new one to fit tight onto the radome but enough to be able to remove it until the next stage.
Now its a case of using the flat file again on the end of the radome to get both parts diameters as good as possible.
Job finished just then glue and paint the pitot if reqd[you can just leave out the glue bit and have it removeable but i find its better to fix them in 72nd scale]
The XPLUS SPOOK has also had the seam faired in and repainted[my only gripes on this casting]
I used a HOBBYDECAL stainless pitot for this one.
On all my HM F-111's i am replacing the overscale and twice the length it should be nose pitot's with MASTERMODEL brass one's.
One more mod is having a gear up and open front undercarriage door/airbrake
for wheels up display.
I just cut the door in two for this[only do this if you have two similar models:) ]
