We are still waiting for the pictures from our Corgi contacts- in the meantime these give some idea of whats coming.

Once we get the shots through we will post up on the Web Site and advise accordingly.

DC3 looks a bit disapointing (I have most of them in my collection) but hopefully the actual model will look better. The Super Connie looks good.

V.nice. I think I speak for most in that the surprise is the chinook ;) . I think the Western looks good :) , slightly different subject, though probably bomb like the Continental! National connie also good :) , was expecting KLM lufty? . and BEA Viscount to go with rest of collection. :) I just sincerely hope this is going to be continued. Because if they do this season and then put civil on hold again, that will be it. :(

I'll pre-order the BEA Scottish Viscount and think about the Super Connie.

Bill, this isn't rocket science. Quick, like a bunny, hurry down and buy both. Support the Corgi Civil Aircraft Model In 1/144 Scale Or Else Consumer Reactionary Force. (CCAM144OECRF)

All seriousness aside, I think Corgi has stood me on my ear. I'm afraid (well, not really) that I need (not want) the Western Airlines DC-3, the National Connie, the Vietnam-era C-121, the Scottish (not "Scotch", mind) Viscount, and all the other 1/144 scale models I've been belaboring the point about with Corgi.

The following positive reinforcement come at great personal price: "Corgi, well done!" :D

Now we have the pointed nose and larger sponsons on the Chinook can we hope for a 160th SOAR MH47 or RAF HC3 and get one before the RAF :D

Chinook could be the buy of the cat @ just 1300 ! Obviously civil collectors will want it but it would complement those who collect the proper military range as well :D . I have just started a civil collection ( oh no , the cost ) !!

The National Airlines Super Connie is easily the best of the best. You just need high standards and good taste to see this. :D

It WILL - trust me! Colour should be 'buff' NOT yellow! Corgi know!

Bob, the catalog model is only a mocked-up prototype. I wasn't happy about the nose shape, but I'm assured it WILL be correct.!

Go and have a lie down mate , is that 3 times on diff. threads you have used the dreaded term ' pre-order '. I'm worried about you !! :D

I agree that the nose on the prototype looks too blunt and "heavy", Albert, but it seems a vast improvement over the other Corgi radar-equipped Connies. I was prepared to accept this and hug the model to death, but it's good news that Corgi intends to go beyond what we see in the catalog, thanks!

See, I don't have to destroy any more models now :D
All 144th and Chinny do me fine, but where to find the cash? now split 'twixt 400,250,200 and corgi AA's.
NB I don't need a bigger boot

... National connie also good :) , was expecting KLM lufty? . ...All in good time. I'm actually happy that Corig is getting its feet wet with a non-essential release (to my mind) before bringing us the gold. I am sure Corgi will make me a very happy collector in the not-so-distant future. ;)

... I wasn't happy about the nose shape, but I'm assured it WILL be correct.! :cool:This is very promising news! I was disappointed to see the nose look no different than the front end of the Blue Angels mock-up, and hoped that it was just an artifact of the test mould. The radome nose is actually one of the most difficult parts of the Super Connie to get right (other than the joints of the extension plug inserted immediately in front of the wing, which breaks the graceful flow of the fuselage and strongly differentiates that Super Connie from the regular Constellation). I've seen Super Connies with noses that are grossly too sharp, and several with blunt bulbs (like the Blue Angels test shots) where a more discrete proboscis is required.

Dont think I've bought any Leg-Ends before - I know they're fixed u/c but do they come with stands??? ...Isn't the Super Connie kind of big to issue as a Legend? New packaging maybe?

I had always thought that the airliner market would not be a very good fit for the Legend series. The militaria market seems a natural for the low-end approach taken by the line, but is there a distinct market for bare-bones Corgi airliners? I highly suspect that of the people who buy the National Super Connie there will be very few, if any, who wouldn't just as readily pay extra for interchangable landing gear, a proper stand, and a limited release certificate. Still, I won't complain so long as my precious (need you ask?) is issued as a normal (non-Legends) release.

Bob, I'll do as you say and pre order the Super Connie too. If I don't I'll only be trying to by one on e-bay in 18 months time anyway.

About 3/4 of the way down the page are another two civil Chinooks. The "Trump" one would make a pretty funny addition to a collection, but the black Colombian civil looks pretty good.
