ok ok, im sure your sick of me batting on about lightnings, understandably so...:D ...but im sure you chaps would like a sneak peak at this.

Having this commissioned built by a very good modeller friend of mine, responsable for doing my 1.48 lancaster i gladly handed this kit into his capable hands.

The aircraft in question is the one i own the prot side serial of, XS923, and im having it built as when it was in LTF duties carrying my initials on its fin 'DF' RAF Binbrook march 1986, the month and year i was born...you could'nt make it up could you..:D :D

not one of trumpeters best kits alot of accuracy issues:( stick it next to an airfix 48th one and you'll see why its so wrong:wacko: a guy over on britmodeller is doing some serious scratch building on this kit at the moment
the airfix kit is the best available in any scale.

no he does'nt use a spray can or airbrush!! much to my surprise as i love mine, but he paints free hand, and its staggering skill he has.Some of his own models are insane.but plastic;)

are the those kit decals he is using?trumpeter have a big problem with red, the lower wing serials,roundels and ltf fin badge are definitely too small they look underscale 48th rather than 32nd.

That is a superb model Dan.

The Lightning does deserve to be released in Diecast in a bigger scale.

A 1:48 Lightning would have quite a bit gravitas in ones collection.
