Yep Here's a piccie. I'm not sure but I think this was the only aircraft painted like this before they adopted the Hemp and light gey scheme. Good website for viccie swishes too.

1/144th would be good to be honest for teh VC10 as would sit nicely with the Victor, Vulcan and the third "V" when released.... WHEN!!!!

But, 1/144th for the smaller jets.... Hmmmmm.

1/72nd... BIG BOX!!!!!!!!!!!

minter
19th May 2005, 09:32

monty
19th May 2005, 12:11
Well I have just ordered a VC10 from my supplier, £4.50 I don't think you can go wrong, it will have to do until Corgi pull their fingers out and produce a 1/144th scale one :(

And agent I did a quick trawl on e-bay and found a photo of one in its box and the engine nacelles appear to be of the right shape, it just remains to be seen if the flight deck windows are corrected too, I know they're made in china but do they need to look like a Chinaman :D

Got one on Sat along with the SAR Wessex ,yes the engines are the correct shape.

Can't find the scale, Agent, since these are in Corgi's Showcase line where scales are not provided.

I think these vc10 showcase are nearer to 1/600th.
And as per link there was a camo gray/green vc10. and Airfix did it.
Just want my 144th VC10 (or second best in 250th) At this rate I'll be pushing up the daisies by the time it appears :o

Camo one (http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=508316&WxsIERv=Ivpxref%20IP-10&WdsYXMg=HX%20-%20Nve%20Sbepr&QtODMg=Oevfgby%20-%20Svygba%20%28SMB%20%2F%20RTGT%29&ERDLTkt=HX%20-%20Ratynaq&ktODMp=Frcgrzore%201982&BP=0&WNEb25u=Xrvgu%20Oyvapbj&xsIERvdWdsY=MN141&MgTUQtODMgKE=Hahfhny%20fubg%20bs%20na%20ENS%20IP10 %20gnaxre%20va%20terl%2Fterra%20pbybhef.%20Vg%20nf %20gur%20frpbaq%20nvepensg%20pbairegrq%2C%20naq%20 jnf%20fgvyy%20ba%20grfg%20ng%20guvf%20gvzr.&YXMgTUQtODMgKERD=1410&NEb25uZWxs=2004-02-10%2000%3A00%3A00&ODJ9dvCE=&O89Dcjdg=&static=yes&width=1024&height=773&sok=JURER%20%20%28ZNGPU%20%28nvepensg%2Cnveyvar%2C cynpr%2Ccubgb_qngr%2Cpbhagel%2Cerznex%2Ccubgbtencu re%2Crznvy%2Clrne%2Cert%2Cnvepensg_trarevp%2Cpa%2C pbqr%29%20NTNVAFG%20%28%27%2B%22IP10%22%27%20VA%20 OBBYRNA%20ZBQR%29%29%20%20beqre%20ol%20cubgb_vq%20 QRFP&photo_nr=27&prev_id=519891&next_id=508313)

I worked out the Corgi VC-10 is about 1/477th scale, so would not look out-of-place in any 1/400th or 1/500th scale collection. Am working on more liveries for this and am pleased to say the engines are the correct shape and not like pieces of dowling rod on the catalogue model!

Aeroclassics $99

Make that $150 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3862&item=6533466640&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) and still a couple of days to go.

I just don't understand why there is such an obvious demand which no-one seems interested in supplying!

C'est la vie... anything VC10, but there again if you are relating this to Corgi - then thats the second biggest civil crime, the first being Concorde..

Breweries and arranging drunken parties come to mind - which is why I think many of us have had enough and are changing allegiances..

Yeah and look at it, not exactly the best detail, wheels too large, nose/cockpit wrong shape, and worse still paint job totally wrong. would think showcase is better than this for a fraction of the cost. Still smacks of something wrong at corgi if their 55k went on this though?
1/200th vc10's at about the same cost and better detailed. (if you can beat Agent to it ;))
Strange nobody has attempted a placky type like hogan/wooster/herpa?

You dont think there is a copyright issue with 'V' products to wit the Vanguard/Valiant/VC10?

Agent X20
20th May 2005, 23:26
Naw its just the inefficiency and the lack of market knowledge that the producers have... basically they are .. carp.... tried to bid on a Western Vanguard tonight, but it was Canadian.. Money Orders only, hence the other post, but looking at the model... not exactly that inspiring..!!

Corgi could make a killing if they could get their ar$e into gear.. but can they be ar$ed..?

Rusty

Looked Ok to me. :) Sure he would take cash. Lufthansa connie quite nice too. But if you look at the one for sale in the nether-regions the detail is done with decals. still cheapish at £55 and $12 shipping. ;)

Did someone say Lufthansa  Link please :D

Agent X20

Saw showcase RAF VC10 yesterday at Kettering Toy Fair.
One word.....C**P

The nose has been truncated, and a crude plastic nosecone added with probe. Looks bally awful. Hope BOAC better?
