If you're a fan of British aircraft (and I am, although I hate to admit it.. :D ), and specifically if you like civil aircraft (which I do), and especially if you're interested in the Bristol Britannia (that would be me..), then here's the book for you.
"The Whispering Giant: The Story of the Bristol Britannia", Frank McKim, Scoval Publishing LTD, Ponteland, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, 2003.
Large hard-cover format (10 1/2" x 12"), 188 pages, 231 color photographs, 13 black & white photographs, 8 diagrams, 36 color profiles of Britannias in various liveries, index, glossary.
So much for specs. Beautiful.....beautiful.....wonderful color photographs of high resolution and all razor-sharp, all the Corgi Britannias are here. Interiors, exteriors, engine cut-away, a "Bob" kind of a book.
#3 in the 'Aircraft of Distinction' series (#1 is the VC-10, #2 is the DH Comet.
I paid $49.95 for my copy (worth every pfennig to me) and procured it online from: http://www.airlinersonline.com
Now, nobody bother me whilst I peruse this slick, professionally-done, fascinating volume. :)
