Anyone seen the Antics site lately http://www.aircraftmodels.co.uk/455_1.html there are 2 Spits for sale advertised as Corgi 1/18 D-WK 610 Sqd & N-KK 118 Sqd. They are not diecast and there are no pics so does anyone know anything about these 2 Corgis or is it another case of mistaken identity?

Big plastic jobbies.. the one that seemed to make it over here orginally was the Stuka.. naturally with the snake down the side... too big fer me...

HHHHmmmmm....Plastic though, and no pictures, well if it's Corgi, they kept it quite....

Is it fully assembled or snap together, the box must be huge.

Apparently these are made by 'Classic Warbirds' ( who they ? ) and will, according an internet source, be 'marketed in conjunction with Corgi'.....

And here's a pic ; -

I think I saw once a Me-109 made by the same maker. I had not been very impressed: the models are made of plastic and are much too big. Not really worth it, in my opinion.

1/18th Models - note they call em vehicles (http://www.modellersloft.co.uk/itemlist2d.ihtml?dept=312)

Pity about the dollar pound parity. in the USA they are $42.00

Aren't these just the "Ultimate Soldier" Plastic models, wings fit on (by the way), that Corgi started marketing over a year ago?

See: http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/products/airplanes.html

Thanks for that Mr Horrido.. that was the site I was looking for..

Is this all because of the 'new' Corgi US influence..?

Chance therefore that we see a 1/18th Mossie before a 1/32 one...????

Our local hobby shop carries these. Nice to look at from a distance, I'm of the opinion, but not to collect. A friend says they "look good from far, but far from good".....

Two P-51s in different markings (one a "B" model, one a "D", two Corsairs (one is a nice FAA bird!), two P-40Bs, two P-47s, two Ju 87s, two Spits, two Bf 109s.

My friend mounts them on swiveling pylons out in his garden. They follow changes in the wind, the props spin, they make the ground vibrate, and the gophers leave his property in haste.

He thinks they look "cool" as well.

The Corgi Gigantic Spits are on sale at the RAF Museum Shop . Not at all impressed - they look like kiddies' stuff ; something for Barbie and Ken to fly around in

Sorry disagree.. think they look remarkably accurate (specially for the money..) .. imagine what they could look like...!!! gather some of them are being done up to a very high standard.. well I liked the Spitfires anyway when I had a play with one at a recent toyfair.. and the 1.18 Mossie (MM417..) will be a even bigger box... :D

I've seen a couple of the P-51's and some of the armour. In fact I actually had one of the P-51's before I became addicted to the AA's. I think they're pretty cool! They look remarkably well for an inexpensive plastic model. Are they something that I would collect, no. If you have kids who like to play with that sort of thing they're not insanely expensive and the kids would have a lot of fun with them...ok...me too, but that's beside the point! :D You can buy alot of 1:18 scale figures to go with them too, all at varying prices.

find a bunch of spittys at ***********
They also have a corsair and P-51 mustang from BBI which I think have better detail than the ones from 21st century toys.
