NeilD piqued my curiosity regarding Number Two in the 'Aircraft of Distinction' series, since he says he has all three and values them.
I was so taken with #3 in the series, "Whispering Giant: The Story of The Bristol Britannia", that I conducted a search and destroy mission on the Internet and found this one for less than $26.00, plus Royal Mail Airmail shipping from the UK:
"The First Jet Airliner: The Story of the de Havilland Comet"
http://images.amazon.com/images/P/190223605X.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
The bookseller says:
"First Edition
Binding: Laminated Boards
Publisher: Scoval Publishing, Newcastle on Tyne, UK
Date Published: 2000
ISBN: 190223605X
Description: Fine. Sq 4to-12" x 12" 206 pages, fully illustrated throughout. A magnificent monograph on the de Havilland Comet, providing a comprehensive design, development and operational history with over 15 airlines, and in various military roles. Includes details of all conversions and variants, full references, a fun page of memorabilia plus an extensive bibliography. Lavishly illustrated with (mainly colour) photographs on virtually every spread. Just superb in every way. Fine photographic laminated boards."
Marvelous. Descriptive text, many color profiles in quality ink on glossy coated stock, highly recommended if you enjoy good books, good art, or good aeroplanes.
