Thought you might like that one, Agent. Think I'll wait and see if they produce a Columbine first though. Must resist buying 1:400th civils......!!

Mr Agent,

Isn't GJ now Corgi anyway, in one form or another? :)

Thats picky... :D :D you are right.. was it a take over or a mutual merging for marketing purposes in the UK..?

I know, but I could no resist dipping my toe into the civil side!!! ;)

I believe it was a mutual merging/marketing ploy really as Corgi's side of the civils had been falling for some time and thus GJ's were on the increase.... So, you do have Corgi civil releases, but under the banner of GJ's.......

Nice.......

Not ****** surprising.. we aint had one for yonks..... the last proper ones (Polished Connie and Comet) aint been anywhere near a dump (£10) bin... and the Dan Air 707's still seem to attract £25 on the Bay...

yeah, it's interesting planes like the qantas 707, taa viscount havn't quite achieved notoriety as dumpsters. And totally 100% support for white tail BOAC strat, or Biafran red cross would be a nice subject as well . I'd be happy with some existing castings with new schemes, there's a lot of mileage in some of these, Viscount,Comet,Brit,707. CIVIL herk as i've stated elsewhere, Delta for instance. :)

... Isn't GJ now Corgi anyway, in one form or another? :)To my knowledge, Gemini Jets and Corgi coordinate marketing in the UK, and Corgi is GJ's UK distributor. This is a similar relationship to the one between GJ and Schuco on the continent (at least until this past year, when, it appears, Schuco pulled out). GJ has manufactured at least one release specifically (and exclusively) for Corgi: the twin-pack Concorde, in BOAC and BA colours. I'm not sure whether we will see more such releases in the future, as collectors on this side of the pond were rather vocal in our dissapproval of an exclusive deal that essentially blocked US distribution.

Now I must say here that I was gradually getting Corgi to do some of these until they had to change the wing shape of the tooling to accomodate the E-3 Sentry. That means we can no longer do any early 707 schemes and any in the future will have to be later ones off the production line. Sorry!

Nothing personal but that is just ****** stupid....

Nostalgia sells civils... just look at the 1/400 and 1/200 specialist ranges...

Must assume therefore that Corgi really could not give a flying do dah as to it's civil collectors.

Thanks anyway for trying to get them to do some of them....

Time to start another collection...

I think that the later wingshape hold more opportunities for the 707 and there are still many classic liveries we can do, so don't worry too much. The driving force with this change is the Sentry, which will outsell any civil 707!
