yes would like to turn it into oils,.. will see, would like to do a malta painting having been drawn...(no pun intended) by reading james holland book and the merlins over malta experience,Have bought the book hurricanes over malta 1940-42 and lots of inspirtation in this title too :)

wish i could draw planes like that....did boats for a while...long time ago...but never planes
and as Data said...the calendar needn't be just photos and colour insets...can envisage an inset with part of the main pic as an illustration shown in pencil....would be a masterpiece

no4mkit, ... well I just did it in few hours :unsure: + some research of course which frankly takes far too much time:wacko: . I always admire those who have deep knowledge especially about historic aviation :)
In addition, I simply like to work reasonably fast, but all necessary details are the priority. That is why I use medium like gouache, which is appropriately quick technique for me ;) Hmm... I am going to finally seriously try watercolors and for that to be fast is necessary ;) ...well, will see :confused:
Minter, yes I have to admit that I like "wide-angle" perspective, maybe because usually there are no photographs like this and it is so difficult to be that close to the action :) In case of artwork, I can be much closer :D

I am especially pleased that Mints is helping us out in a couple of ways on the Bomber Command Day!;) :) Will be one of the highlights as his BoB artwork was. One of the BoB veterans specifically complimented Minter's work and asked for some spare tickets....can't get much higher praise than that!:cool:

a fair few, but mrs mints the computer wizard so i have to wait for her to download them, i think i will post the painting of it on here and ask for suggestions cos i'm not quite happy with it

I have just ordered this Simon Atack print called "Red Hot Pursuit". It is signed by 4 Russian pilots :) ......

Found this in the loft an Ivan Berryman pencil print "Destnation Amiens" cant remember how i got this was i something to do with Flypast? the date is 1993,up for grabs this one for free!Mr Minter i rate you better than Berryman looking at you work! thanks for shareing

latest one a 630 Sqdn Lanc signed by the actual pilot Flt Lt E Harris DFC ,he did about 25 of his 36 trips in this Lanc, i might turn this into a limited edition print at some stage

The pencil Mosquito drawing came with another Berryman print, of, a mosquito:)
I had that print, & the drawing, but give the pencil sketch to a work colleague, who was an avid Mossie fan.:cool
Sadly, all my Ivan Berryman prints were lost when we had a pipe burst in the loft a few years back:mad:
