didnt end up where I'd planned, but you know how it is..
First stop was North Cotes.. Unfortunately the church was locked so couldnt get in to photograph the stained glass panel dedicated to the station..

however church quite pretty, and a few service graves, mainly Commonwealth airmen, but also 2 germans and a civillian.... the civillian was a Jane Robinson who died in 1932 aged 90.. no idea what her connection with the station was.. another one that caught my eye was a Sgt Handley of the RFC who died in 1917.. his headstone was gray/granite - anyone know, when did they standardise on the white stones??

Unfortunately nothing much to see of the airfield, so after a swift half in a local pub, I noticed a sign for Binbrook.. not been there since it closed.. a couple of the hangars are in commercial use,

the rest of the technical site appears to be a cross between an industrial estate and a pikey site..
anyway, nice to see this..
