Well, When I was roaming the roads last year I stumbled on this little babe that a guy had in his collection..... I am not 100% sure who has made it, but was told by him that it was a Corgi issue (pre-production), but later discovered it was not, but I DO keep it under lock and key...... It is slightly smaller than that of a 1/72nd (I think) or maybe of same size, but I do not think so, so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong section (Mr Moderators)..... Move the thread if yer like!!!

It is a Diecast model......

Hmm, 1/72nd Dragon Rapide at £150.00 a throw and no transparencies??? You're joking! You can do a Heller kit WITH transparencies for less than a tenner!! I would build one and finish it in any scheme for £50 - 1/3 of their price!

You guys may be interested to know that Airfix have just announced they will be releasing a 1/72nd scale kit of the TSR-2 next August, priced at £14.99 ;)

I remember seeing a painting of a TSR2 in camo flying low level over a Scottish Loch. Nice

I have a CG wallpaper on my desktop at the minute with two TSR2s in white with conformal belly tanks and missiles under the wings.

Whether the TSR2s would have been as good a plane as we think it would is debatable but it is one of the best looking and we can't argue that. Another nail in the British aircraft industry by the government of the time.

CFBC, out of interest, what are the dimensions of that TSR2 model? I haven't bought a model for ages and have been keeping my eyes out for one of those on the 'bay etc as I'm as I'm so ****** tempted.

Nice model CFBC and what a fantastic looking plane even 40 years on. Seen the one at Cosford a few times and it is a very impressive sight. Looks like it could still do the business even with todays modern jets.

Like Concorde, it was way ahead of its time but lost out because of a weak willed Labour Government who hadn't the balls to go toe to toe with the American aircraft industry and bowed to the pressure. So much so that when it was cancelled the Labour Government not only ordered the complete destruction of all the airframes but also the machines and jigs that were used to build them so the project could never be resurected.

Thank God someone had the forsight to save the two airframes now sitting at Cosford and Duxford. Whoever he was deserves a great deal of gratitude.

Oh what might have been.

TSR2 is an awesome aircraft, as you rightly point out ahead of its time even today. Apparently quite a bit of Eurofighter's avionics are straight off TSR2. Seem both the survivors, gorgeous aeroplane. think I may have to have one of the Airfix ones next year, i'm afraid that's too good to miss!
