DC-130A at Willow Grove NAS

Here's an aerial shot taken some time ago of a USN DC-130A Hercules taxying out at Willow Grove Naval Air Station (Corgi Field).

How about that great Connie Event where they all came to say hello for the weekend.. big line up... then were seen in a diamond nine formation doing aerobatics around the Willow Grove vicinity...

(He comes up with that it'll be instant divorce time!!)

The pilot didn't really taxi out from inside the hangar, Agent, knowing he'd lose his tail for the weekend. (double entendre intended, sorry...)

But, being composed of all the "right stuff", he did decide to fire up right on the ramp, filling the hangar with dust, dirt, trash, and 100 mph worth of prop wash.

The mechanics working in the hangar will be looking for this guy for a long time....... :eek:

So we need to see the massed squadron scramble take off.., the diamond nine loop... a synchro pair.. some inverted at zero feet down the runway...

First thing, yer need Mrs Bobs hairdryer to get the props spinning... dont forget to set the heating control to zero..!!

I don't collect the 1/144 scale models, only cos I had to stop somewhere been very tempted by the odd vulcan though , but one model that realy does look good IMHO is the RAF desert camo Hercules, it makes me think back to the one Airfix did in the same colours, had a Land Rover , Bloodhound and ground crew , even a RAF police dog ,great !! :) any way anyone know how much one of the Corgi camo hercs would set me back now ?
