I wonder if Corgi are going to be providing us with any more of the above? I gather there are only a few liveries available of each at present. I'm a newbie in this game but my experience is that Corgi like to get value for money from their moulds.

Welcome to the forum boondogger. The new catalogue is out soon and yes I expect there will be new schemes for both models.

Welcome to the forum, the JU88 can be with us for years if Corgi does'nt cock it up, the typhoon on the other hand may soon run out of versions unless the start giving it the rocket or bomb load it was famous for.

If Corgi see sense and release one Typhoon a year, it could last a fair time to:rolleyes:

I don't have the Corgi Typhoon yet. Does it not have a nice row of rockets underneath each wing then? Sounds an extraordinary omission, given what it was famous for? What do you think of the model generally?

I don't have the Corgi Typhoon yet.
Neither have any of us, it's release is delayed. The first one will be Beaumont's aircraft but no rockets. The second is the one that we are all really excited about which is the desert scheme Typhie.
Have a look here for pictures of the pre production models.

Now I see. I'm a frequent visitor to Tricatus and I assumed because I could see stuff on there it was commonly available. Still, I'd really like to get my hands on the desert one. Tempest would be nice too, at some point if Corgi don't fold.

Old and tired too. Naughtiness merely an aspiration although Mrs B might rate my rapidly accumulating assemblage of metal in that category. Boondogger just plucked out of thin air really..like surrealist poetry. I first considered Whirly Merly because a favourite pet project of mine is slinging a couple of merlins on a whirlwind (supposing the requisite bits could be found of course). That beast would really move. Still, Boondogger it is now.

I defer to your superior technical knowledge Agent X20. Still, I understand Westland were considering it at one point. (It's kind of hard to tell from the tiny photo but my avatar pic has a couple of merlins photoshopped onto it).:)

I'd bet money on the fact that no rockets will appear on the Typhoon, Hell they can't even be ar5ed to put them on the corsair or the Thunderbolt:mad:

That's just typical of corgi isn't it, put them on an aircraft that I had no idea had ever used them, well obviously they know more than me

Got to admit though he has got a point, they're hardly the types you'd generally associate with rockets. A rocket armed D-Day Typhoon would be an awesome model though, and if well execurted an absolute must have....

See that's something I would have associated with Wing Rockets the Mossie, not a bloomin' meteor, but just goes too show how awesome they look on an aircraft. That Meteor does look cool with them than without.
Perhaps corgi were so desperate to get another "All Silver" aircraft out so decided with the rockets to make it suitably different

I find all this talk about the 2007 catalog a bit comical when we haven't seen any of the 2006 P-38's, Ju 88's, or Typhoons. Even if there were to be "new" and "exciting" versions of any of these old moulds, or any "exciting" new moulds, who says any of them will be released in 2007 (or at all, for that matter!).
When it comes to Corgi releases, the best use for the 2007 catalog would probably be to start fires! In fact, given their loused-up production schedule, I'm surprised they went ahead and produced a 2007 catalog before making right their production woes.
Personally, I won't believe any the original "old mould" models are going to be produced until I actually see them for sale. I'm surely not going to count on the production of "new" and "exciting" versions from those same moulds!

I loves it meself, I would have put money on the fact this announcement would have been a huge-mungous Anti-Climax. But now at least corgi announcements can guarantee a good old moan :D :D

Those of us with limited budgets want models around the £25 mark. Problem with Corgi is that there best models are huge and cost around £70. There are pricing a lot of collectors out of the market. Aiming to produce around 110 aircraft next year and we are still short of around 20 for this year. Anyone seen a working P51D?

B*gger all else to talk about at the moment.......naff all interesting coming from Dragon....Gemini's and HM have had a good airing recently but until further models arrive they've died down.....nice as Agent X20's piccies are, the civil collectors are a minority on this forum (sorry old bean) and, whatever your personal views of Corgi, they're still the market leader.....if the next releases maintain the recent improvement in QC seen in the Stringbag and they don't go bust or increase prices even further, then they will probably stay the market leader.....

They are and will continue to be the market leader. (However, I might mention that my Stringbag had loose wires, which I tried to fix (stupid move) and completely fouled up--no more Stringbag--a crooked horizontal tail, and worn paint over the roundels).
My problem with Corgi isn't just quality control and late arrivals, but their complete lack of communication with their customers. I only have so much dough, and have to divvy it out judiciously, which means I'll buy Corgi first and foremost. But if there ain't no Corgi's, I'll buy HM or Gemini (Aces, Macs, or Jets, and a few SMA, Aeroclassics, Big Birds, and Herpas thrown in). But, if I spend my month's or week's 1/72 allotment on models from either of these companies, and Corgi springs a late arrival on us, then Corgi can't get my business because the money has--so to speak--flown the coop.
So, it would be in Corgi's interest to KEEP US REALISTICALLY INFORMED OF THEIR RELEASES SO WE CAN BUDGET. However, their attitude seems to be let-them-eat-cake, which is what most of us have been doing by buying HM and Gemini. And pretty good cake it is, too--and because of Corgi's lack of communication, I for one am getting a taste for it!
