If the rumors are true and the 1/32 A/C line is dead, what are the prospects that Corgi will still come out with the rest of the 2006 1/32 lineup, more specifically the Graf working range 109???

Hopefully they'll continue with the castings they have HW. I'd like to see a few more Spits, and an FB Mosquito, but I know the chances...

Posted somewhere in the 2007 catalog discussion, there was a question about why no 1/32 aircraft for 2007??, and someone posted that Albert had gotten rid of it, or had been lobbying Corgi to get rid of it.. Anyway, there isn't one 1/32 plane scheduled for 2007..

Still be interesting to see that Jerk... (fully working)

Think to be fair to Mr Ross, (gawd knows why..) his role is more research than scale erradication..

If dealers are selling as they are over here 1/32's at £20 there must be sod all profit in them for the pooch.. as those dealers are making a profit..

1/32 sells VERY well over here.. One reason I can't understand why Corgi keeps binning them over there...

I am not throwing accusations, just reitirating what I saw in an earlier post, hopefully it is only rumor and not fact as I'd like to see Corgi continue on with the 1/32 range..;)

Obviously not well enough otherwise you would have thought that the pooch would have crated up all these Hurricanes and shipped them out there..

However one musnt forget that you get them half price over there to start with.. so our £20 specials are your $39.99 (rrps)...

Agent, RRP on a typical 1/32 A/C is $80 here.. If they were $39.99 I'd be scooping them up more often.. (Now, in saying that, I have seen some Hurricanes for that price, but I have one and don't need another)..:p

We've all said it before, Corgi's marketing & distribution of the 1/32 range, particularly wrt the US market, was a lttle strange/haphazard/shambolic. How else did we end up with Flightlines for £30-£40 when Harry & co are screaming out for more? Not complaining...Grumpy, Barkhorn etc are classics and sit nicely on my shelf but????

Given current evidence where in the UK you can buy a 1/32 for the price of a Corgi 1/72 (not saying much really!;) ), just can't see the financial logic in continuing the 1/32, even with the current moulds. Hope the 109 working range makes it though as that will probably be the only 'WR' I purchase...

Theres most probably fewer alterations to the Mark I/II to make it into a Mark V, so again the personalities at Poochville win out over what would be a far better commercial prospect IMHO DYOR.....

I hope they make one as that can sit downstairs with me Birth of a Legend print...

It is again (IMHO) a mold where they could do 50/100 of one livery and charge a premium for it, unlike the conno-sewers where they seem to have taken carp and made it higly priced carp..

Good Lord please let this not be the end of 1/32.

I love Corgi's 1/32 line, it's incredible. More than any other thing, my clients remark about these magnificent birds with their removable cowlings, detail, movable parts, etc. I've made more Corgi fans with my 1/32 birds than with anything else.

Keep'em coming Corgi.

The December 2006 issue of FlyPast features a ( brief ) interview with Corgi's Range Research Manager, Rob Hinchcliffe. You'll need to buy the magazine to read all of it. I hope it's OK to post this here ( I don't usually 'lift' stuff from publications ), but one question is important to collectors here ; -

FP : Is Corgi considering any more 1:32 scale models ?

RH : 'We feel that we have covered the most important iconic aircraft, so nothing new is planned at present , particularly as the price point and the size of the models makes collecting in numbers difficult.
That said, in time we may revisit the scale, for example to feature a different era'.

Yeah, a great shame, but it has been on the cards for a while as we have all known as Corgi simply produce too many, not market them well and then have to reduce the prices and decert them....

Oh well, bring on GMP and others, get the QC/QA right, slightly higher price and then reduce the quantity and you have a winner! Said it before and say it again that there is a market for "quality" 1/32nds. :)

Even Stinger and Jumpin Jaques are real good aircraft once you get hold of one up close. Stinger looks real good on its stand :) Gotz 109 is also under rated....looks great to :)

As the 190/47/87 and even Zero are well modelled in 1/32, then molds must be a sinch...

Instead of 2000 models of 4 subects, they should bring out 20 at 400 of each.. what they spend on the research etc on the extra liveries.. simple ....make it universal 'window' box and sticker on the end...

TBH, I dunno:unsure: .....how many folks seriously collect 1/32....and how many other collectors would just want the odd one of each type? 8,000 1/32 is still 8,000 1/32 no matter how it is broken down. How many folks could store them....rumour has it that if it wasn't for a couple of forum members who are already renting Big Yellow Storage then the price of 1/32 would have collapsed completely:D ......

Whilst excellent models, the size meant they were always going to have a limited market and range of types compared to 1/72 & 1/144.....and as the chap says in Flypast, the iconic ones have been done.....at least the ones that will sell the most have been.....

Said all along that 1/32 was a mistake for Corgi...they're mass producers....it's not their market.....so I have to be honest and say that on a personal level I'm not sorry to see them stopping....although I do feel for you guys trying to build a good 1/32 collection only to have it made very difficult all of a sudden.....

See your point but my GMP P-40 sits happily on the same shelf as my 1/32 Mustangs. Yes, you do notice a difference if comparing like for like models but in the face of Corgi pulling the plug on 1/32, GMP gives life to the large scales. Methinks the Barkhorn will be the 109 to have in years to come. A truly superb model with the added bonus of the three figures. If Mrs Red 2 wasn't giving me the type of look associated with imminent death...to me!:D , I would increase the loft insulation by another....

You could also read that as meaning, no new WW2 molds are planned.

Doesn't make sense that Corgi would give up on the Hurricane so soon.

They could be giving the existing 1:32 a year off to build interest and selloff the remaining stock.

Probably a good idea with these price increases.

I have two 1/32 109's, the Hartmann is very nice but the Red 6 Wild Sau is I think under rated. The only thing that spoils it is the prop and the prop spinner looks very plastic. I think this is because of the paints used as it is not obvious on the Hartmann.
