Anyone see the story in I think Aeroplane a few months ago about the Stirling given to the Russians? Fascinating....standard RAF scheme with Red Stars. One day I'll get my Stirling.:rolleyes:

Just finished reading On Stirling Wings. No mention of it in there though. Good book all the same.

Russia was promised a number of Stirlings after 1941 but the RAF only grudgingly handed one over towards the end of the war. Flew for some time with the Russians but not as a bomber.Must dig out the magazine.
