Picked this up on a market stall for 99p.
Battle of Britain novel, had never got round to reading it before.
A bit like "Piece of Cake" but was first published in 1955.
Definitely worth reading, particularly I though because it deals a lot with the ground crew. Too many novels about this subject have the pilots and an otherwise invisble cast.
Also, there is a scene right at the beginning when a new pilot comes in to land and then gets signalled of by flare because has forgotten to put the wheels down. Does that remind you of anything? ;)
