Picked this up on a market stall for 99p.

Battle of Britain novel, had never got round to reading it before.

A bit like "Piece of Cake" but was first published in 1955.

Definitely worth reading, particularly I though because it deals a lot with the ground crew. Too many novels about this subject have the pilots and an otherwise invisble cast.

Also, there is a scene right at the beginning when a new pilot comes in to land and then gets signalled of by flare because has forgotten to put the wheels down. Does that remind you of anything? ;)

It's actually not a bad book - it was written by Elleston Trevor, a writer who seems to be almost forgotten today.
