I've been thinking whether corgi would be able to do a Viking or Valletta in 1/72 granted that the Wellington will soon be out. Can it be done? i wonder.....BEA, Eagle etc etc

There is more to that conversion than meets the eye. For a start, the Wellington had a geodetic construction, on wings as well as fuselage, so that would mean a new set of wings. The engines are different and mounted further forward, and that's just to start after you've made a new fuselage. I know as I have done a conversion from a kit of a Wellington and I'm sure Corgi would find this far too costly to do in diecast form.

Keep the faith Luke! Keep using the force.

You can always pay around £109.95 for a 1/200th scale diecast Viking made by Heathrow Models and sold by Collectors Models or there is a 1/72nd kit by Maquette at £19.95 which incorporates Wellington parts and a rather crude new fuselage. Here they are...

Thanks Morley, never tried resin kits and have even less time now, but lets keep our hope's up for a 1/144 scale one at least.

There's a Stinson Reliant from them- I'm told that's OK for beginners. If you prefer Vac-form, www.airmodel.de have some.
