Yeah thought it was, looks very nice! I don't really go for 1/144 but I think I could be making an exception for this baby! Looks like they've made a great job of the engines too.

Yes, quite right! This is actually a USAF variant with the markings and engines changed by computer. I have asked Corgi to ensure a refuelling probe is added.

Interesting stuff, I'll never believe a Corgi catalogue again! ;) :D I presume that the wing pods, wingtip aerials, and engines will get the full treatment too as per the picture? As I said earlier nice model! :)

Mmmm yes it's a bit late isn't it. Maybe they have had problems with the new bits such as the pods, probe and engines.

This is true, when was the last time Corgi released a model that incorporated new/changes in tooling on time? It doesn't seem to happen too often! I'm sure it'll be with us before too long, this is one I am looking forward to seeing.

Yeah me too. I think the rotating rotodome is an interesting feature, I understand it works from a watch battery doesn't it?

The Boffins at Corgi could not figure out why their new Awacs model kept spinning round on it's stand?
.....Until the Tea-lady pointed out the plane was upside down :D

Probably has a different centre of gravity due to the new engines, probe and the assorted pods. They were probably expecting the balance to be the same as the other E3.

:D Mr/Ms Spice,
Welcome to the Forum. In answer to your question, does anyone ?? Please take the time if you can spare it, to read through some of the threads.
Corgi in a nutshell whilst appearing to be a brand leader and supplier of good quality affordable models have lost their way, Numerous examples of incompetence, complacency and don't care less abound. Typical example is last years Waddington Vulcan release, the week after the annual show at said airbase !!......... :(
We now see their latest offering of said model scheduled for release first week of July, doubtless missing the boat yet again !! I would dearly love to be proiven wrong !! Time will tell !!...... ;)

Picked a couple of these up when they were £25.00 and only really got around to giving them the once over - very nice model indeed, especially for the price.

Picked one up a couple of months ago for £25 and its a cracking model, really think its going to be a sort after model with only 1600 produced. Ok they still have those terrible sticker windows down the fuselage, but i can live with that. I love the fact that the radome actually rotates, looks great!

The RAF version of the AWACS (E-3D) had Rolls-Royce engines fitted as they gave better performance compared to the original ones fitted on the Boeing 707 (which the E-3 is derived from), basically, British is Better lol
