Both the Chinooks look good for me as the HC.2 will fill a gap. I just hope it can be displayed in 'normal' mode?
The US Army (http://www.chinook-helicopter.com/chinook/gunsagogo.html) 'Guns-A-Go-Go' looks awesome. I just hope Corgi does it justice. Check out that fire power!!

I'm definately going for the RAF Chinook, as I've wiating for a modern RAF version! I do hope they replace the Landy with a more modern LR Defender though!

Just placed an order for the "guns-a-go-go" after visiting the U.S. websites.
I just hope Corgi does it right and includes the lower outside mounted guns.
Also ordered all the Unsung Armour.

At present, we don't have any Chinooks planned beyond those two. Does anyone have any requests?

How about a Canadian Chinook and Sea King in the same colour scheme used on the RCAF Hercules and rescue Lancaster.

Would be nice, but they never flew in that scheme. Chinooks are camouflaged, much like the original RAF scheme.

In fact there were two painted like this, used by the SAS in the Gulf. I have shots of them both in my archives. It's 'on the cards', to coin a phrase!

How about one of the US MH47s? If you want to organise a MC130 as well that'd be great. :D
See here

edit-I just went and looked up airliners.net for the british airawys Chinook. I have to admit I didn't believe you but there it was. Also the Iranians have a nice paint job on their Chinooks.

I remember seeing the BA Chinooks operating out of Aberdeen in the 80s, but they tragically lost one in the Shetlands/North sea and subsequently sold them.

Always thought the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force looked quite smart.
Or how about a RAF HC.1 from the 1980's on UN duties in the Lebenon with HUGE union flags and a nitesun under the nose?
The Italian ones look quite smart too...

Picture is "a-gone-gone" :D
There were only 4 produced. The only one left is "Easy Money" which was restored and now on display at the Redstone Arsenal. Maybe Corgi will use this one as their reference.

So I would assume by the silence that we will be getting the 1980's Land Rover with a 2004 Chinook then? :(
What's the problem, are there problems with Land Rover over copyright etc? Those Land Rovers haven't been used for years, the last time I sat in one when I was at Wattisham in around 1990, the seat fell apart as soon as I sat in it! Yep, in short they were knackered!
I really love the idea of the stand being used as a diorama, what a great idea, but if we can't have a modern Land Rover, then let's replace it with either an AS-90 field gun, or simply a paletted load, or it will look stupid!
ForkTailedDevil
16th November 2004, 13:36
How about interchangable loads. You get bored with a Land Rover, you stick in a field gun or a fuel bladder (probably not) or other stuff.

Yeah, it would be nice, but can't see Corgi going for that one! The only thing worrying me is that the Chinook HC2 is slated for the first half of 2005, that leaves very little time for alterations at this stage, so we may have to just live with it. Well they weren't too worried about the fuel tanks on the RAF Tornado's were they?

In Marks & Spencer they are selling loads of 'Novelty' christmas gifts... big boys toys and all that... I did clock today a set of three 1:72 Military Land Rovers! (Red Cross and two camo ones) they are in 1:72 scale and would easily compliment any modern AA! £6.00 for the set of three.
Showcase Spitfires were also being sold in M&S packaging...

So Charley, what's the quality like on these M&S Landys then?
